Galactica's Future
I just want the silly plywood removed from the bridge and anything else redundant from the Galactica stuff. Remove projection screens if not projecting onto them etc. Basically restore it closer to Air.- jon81uk

Chessington World of Adventures Resort
I don't think Chessington will get any significant thrill rides again. That is what Thorpe Park is now offering.- jon81uk

The Public Transport Thread
It helps that Staines station to Thorpe Park is only about 15 minutes drive and Staines station is a fairly short journey from central London. Alton Towers is a longer bus journey and the closest stations aren't as close to places where people are unlikely to own cars. It's a bit chicken and...- jon81uk

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
Mack have made a few hypercoaster models, DC Rivels at Movieworld in Austrailia was one of the first. https://rcdb.com/r.htm?order=-8&ot=2&ml=14441- jon81uk

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
Rita was not a first-of-type. It was at least the fourth hydraulic launch coaster, with Top Thrill Dragstar being one of the first notable ones https://rcdb.com/r.htm?order=-8&ot=2&el=12166 13 yes had the world-first drop element but the rest of the ride is pretty standard. Oblivion was a...- jon81uk

Weigh Loss Jabs
Hopefully it works for you, my husband has lost over 10kg using one of the jabs, but he did have some success with calorie counting but found he got hungry at times, which is where the jab helped. I haven’t had to lose significant weight but helping him calorie count in the past has definitely...- jon81uk

Weigh Loss Jabs
I assume you know this won’t do much for weight loss? Need to reduce the calories going in before trying to burn them off. Try something like MyFitnessPal to count the calories going in and try to eat higher protein filling meals.- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
Given Universal are building on a former brickworks, what makes you think it will have significant opposition? The only major complaint would be around traffic but it does sound like there are plans to minimise those issues.- jon81uk

Paultons Park: General Discussion
A lot of places are going this way. It reduces cash theft by staff and similar issues. Also lower insurance costs when you don’t need to worry about securing cash. Generally in London I’ve come across a lot of places that are cashless now, especially smaller businesses who don’t want to worry...- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Passholders generally don't make them extra money. If the passholders come on the Saturday instead it makes very little difference to the parks income. Also September is one of the quietest months, especially with no Oktoberfest this year.- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
Not comparable as Seaworld is all fast food outlets, whereas Alton Towers is one fast food lunch and one two course dinner at the hotel. Sea World don't have hotels. Universal won't be charging £150+ for admission. Some people just like knowing its pre-paid. So they can spend £50 per person...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
This is basic in all terms and conditions really. The delivery might not turn up, the electric might go out, there could thousands of reasons why they can't offer a particular dish or open a particular restaurant.- jon81uk

Nintendo Switch 2
For first-party yes Mario Kart World is the major new release with Donkey Kong Bonanza coming next month. https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/Hardware/Nintendo-Switch-2/Nintendo-Switch-2-games/Nintendo-Switch-2-Games-2785634.html There are also a bunch of third party games too. The plans are only for hotel guests anyway I think. As you say, kind of pointless if off-site as you aren’t likely to eat in the hotel restaurant for dinner.- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
This is the main issue I think, not knowing exactly what the exclusions are so you could turn up and discover its impossible to break even on the plan. On face value though I still think the £50 one is fine, £12 at Burger Kitchen, £7 on dougnuts and a drink and £31 in Secret Garden (where most...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
If its the first day and you are staying that night, most people won't have had hotel breakfast. On my last trip we had Greggs breakfast on the way to the park, Burger Kitchen lunch and then two course dinner. So the package seems normal really.- jon81uk

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion
Not even sure its that money talks, just that they have a ride based on one of his books and they see it removed enough from his persona that they don't need to remove the ride before the end of its lifespan or license. As with Charlie & the Choc Factory its likely to be on a ten year licensing...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
Seems odd that you can't do Rollercoaster Restaurant for dinner on any of the plan levels? Also no Freestyle refill cup? Otherwise not sure if there would be massive savings to be had, but some people do like to know they have budgeted the full cost of the weekend away. At a guess for the £50...- jon81uk
