The World of David Walliams: General Discussion
Is it known that the plot came from him and not Merlin Magic Making?- jon81uk

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion
Not quite. He made the gestures during the taping of a show which when it airs at Christmas will be edited and go out before the watershed. The gesture would never get shown before the watershed. At every taping of a show things will happen that can't be shown on TV, that is one of the editors...- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
I had an annual pass for over 10 years, something like 2001 to about 2013 (can't remember exactly) and I've not really missed having it. Since not having a pass we still did Alton Towers for fireworks in many years. Also done Thorpe Park 3-4 times. But I don't actually miss going 2-4 times to...- jon81uk

Nintendo Switch 2
BUMP! Did anyone get a Switch 2? What are first impressions like? Although I want one and Mario Kart World looks great, I've held off for now because that is the only game I would really be buying it for and I already have a backlog of games!- jon81uk

Obscure UK Parks
Reminds me of Jorvik Viking Centre in York which opened in 1984, so maybe not that ahead of its time really. Spirit of London at Madame Tussaauds opened 1993 and the Kingmaker exhibit at Warwick Castle in 1994. The late 80s and early 90s really was the hey-day for this sort of waxwork or...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
But order 160 might be stuck waiting for the McNuggets to cook when they have plenty of 1:10 patties ready to make Big Mac or cheeseburger from. So order 160 might keep sitting there even while they call 170, 171 etc.- jon81uk

Its not common for private construction sites to use rail freight. Also what do you mean by "build the railway up"? I think there is plans for new and improved stations but those won't be needed for several years. Construction workers if coming by train will manage fine with the current station...- jon81uk

I quite like KFCs current chips. They are closer to chips than fries in my opinion, soft and tasty. Their older fries were just crispy nothing, like cardboard. At least these resemble the flavour of potato, also they've gone back to adding salt and seasonings which helps a lot with flavour and...- jon81uk

Paultons Park: General Discussion
To an extent, whats changed? Back in the early 90s, my family made a few trips to Drayton Manor (we were in Worcestershire so it was close enough) and the fact it was wristbands or pay-per-ride meant my mum who didn't ride much didn't need a wristband, making the trip more affordable. Whereas...- jon81uk

Paultons Park: General Discussion
Almost no one buys an on the day ticket, at basically all UK parks that price only exisits to make pre-booking look discounted. I can book to go tomorrow and its £45, using the inflation calculator, £45 now would have been £32.66 in 2014 (and £27 in 2014 is £37.20 now). So while the price has...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
Having it made your way more easily, improves the customer service and experience for some people significantly, being able to take your time at a touchscreen and check if there are any ingredients you don't like and order a burger with no onion makes for a much better experience for some. But...- jon81uk

There is no indication of a rebrand. Blackpool Tourism Ltd will operate them as franchises with support from Merlin Magic Making on new exhibits.- jon81uk

As far as I know Blackpool Council continued being the owner of the Tower even whilst Merlin was managing it. Now Merlin are giving it to new management.- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
If there is enough autonomy to remake orders that have been sent back (there won't be a ticket from the till for the remake) then there is enough autonomy to pause. Again if they had run out of cups to put the ice cream in to they would have had to stop so the ability to stop is there. Yes the...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
Going back to the first reply to on this where the issue was that food worker had to remake products because they melted before they were served. The food worker doesn't need to disable the ordering, but just use common sense and stop assembling and delivering the product to maintain the...- jon81uk
