But the Yeti physically damages the track whilst you're on the ride. You don't just see it, it affects the journey as far as the plot is concerned.- Alexsutton

Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015
I believe the procedure is to reverse the train down the lift, that way it's a much safer evac than one at height and on an incline. It's the only ride in the world, that I'm aware of, where that is a possibility. That being said, it would seem a major flaw in the blocking logic if it allowed...- Alexsutton

Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015
As mentioned previously, the railing is necessary to prevent passengers falling forwards off the vehicle during load/unload. In terms of a crash, that front railing is lightweight and relatively flimsy and will have been pushed out the way by the heavy rear of the front vehicle. If the back of...- Alexsutton

If the rail wasn't there then the passengers' legs would have gone straight into the back of the car in front. I don't think the result would have been much different. The railing itself only crushed peoples legs because it was in between the two masses colliding. It's the two heavy objects that...- Alexsutton

They both have the same issue number so I think that's the same prohibition order but with two breaches on one order so it's listed twice.- Alexsutton

Thorpe Park 2017: DBGT: Rise of The Demon
There may not be a huge amount to read into the marketing, The Smiler's initial marketing had those banners with DNA helixes and none of the elements that would associate it with the final theme. That being said however, you would hope that a dark ride would be built around a key theme to start...- Alexsutton

I don't see how that's a legal issue? They don't have to place any blame, just something to reassure the public that they have made changes.- Alexsutton

I think AT will have to make some kind of press release regarding the cause of the accident when the ride does reopen. It will just prompt bad reactions if they quietly reopen the ride without any explanation as to what they've done to prevent a repeat incident.- Alexsutton

Currently, there are two lines merging into three. Main queue and combined singles/fasttrack get split into two main station queues and one single rider queue into the right hand station.- Alexsutton

From the plans, Fast Track now goes directly into the right hand station, so there is a third dedicated fastrack line out of the merge point. It also appears to replace the single rider queue.- Alexsutton

They want to force you through it though, that's the whole point of doing it like this. You definitely won't buy a photo if you never have one taken, you might buy one if it's already been taken, you see it and you like it. Chance of making a sale is more important than guest experience, that's...- Alexsutton

Looks like that theming piece will be going on the lift hill, just after the track goes over the pathway. Plans also say that the station will have walls essentially hiding the train/track from the rest of the station, suggesting they will be making the currently mostly unused space on the...- Alexsutton
