Christmas Season 2024
Santa is an upcharge at some attractions across the UK. The best example nearest me is Longleat during their Christmas/Festival of Light event. Everything is included in the day ticket apart from Santa, which is an upcharge. It would be simple enough for Towers to do the same.- James

Skyride General Discussion
I don't think I've ever queued for Skyride for more than 20 minutes (and that was on peak busy days). I think capacity got worse over the years as fewer gondolas were in use. Hopefully, part of this investment has involved fixing existing gondolas or buying new ones to increase capacity...- James

Haha! Hopefully Skyride will be fine. Monorail however… 👀- James

Skyride General Discussion
If the ‘old’ Alton/Merlin management were still in place, this would still be SBNO or demolished by now.- James

Nintendo Switch 2
I have the original Nintendo Switch, so this should be a nice upgrade. I pretty much only use the Switch for Pokemon and some Mario games. I think they've made the right choice not to go for a different type of console. They hit gold with the Switch, so it makes sense for the next console to...- James

[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin
Pre-batch on peak days/busy periods and leaving it on quieter periods would be sensible. It would be amusing if they cut that staff member, given how they waste extra staff on other rides (e.g. staff member batching outside Hex).- James

[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin
For the past few years, they've always chosen ‘opening spring’ as it gives leeway should there be any unexpected delays. Alton Towers has learnt the hard way in previous years, when they've been unable to open rides on announced dates. I'm not a huge fan of the name, it sound too X-Sector. I'm...- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
I wonder whether this investment is partly a reaction to the lack of anything 'new' in this area since 2022. By 2026, it will have been four years since CBeebies Land had something 'new' (the largest gap in this area's history). A new ride and IP will no doubt boost the popularity of this area...- James

Christmas Season 2024
I'm not bothered by 365 openings. They can barely manage current seasonal operations. I would rather see the main season sorted and an expanded Christmas/November/December event explored, including the opening of a coaster or two (Wicker Man and RMT, for example).- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
The Smiler is the only coaster (I can think of) with a different layout on the application compared to the real thing, which was intended to hide the whole 14-loop world record. I would be very surprised if that were the case with this. It's a kids' coaster, so the proposed layout is likely...- James

Dot matrix screens
There was definitely one next to the Katanga waterfall, right next to the services/staff gate in Mutiny Bay near the KC sign, and on the entrance tower under the Alton Towers logo. I'm unsure if there was one near X-Sector or on the right-hand side of the park? It's not my picture, but here's...- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
Nothing at all. I was hypothesising whether the planned storage of the Chessington flats could be relocated to Towers. Just a random thought/idea. :)- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
I wonder whether the ride system could be relocated, along with the Chessington rides going into ‘storage’ to Walliams World as a part of a re-theme alongside Project Horizon. A good way to create a new area on the cheap.- James

Chessington World of Adventures Resort
In a way, nothing has changed at Alton Towers. They are still consistently receiving new attractions, re-themes, and hardware yearly, with millions spent. Whereas Chessington, a park completely neglected by yearly investments, now seemingly has multiple projects in the pipeline of a significant...- James

Skyride General Discussion
The Skyride used to be a lifesaver for my mum, who has heart problems. Her mobility is limited now, so theme parks are now a no-go, but when we used to go as a family, the Skyride was vital for getting from A to B. I just hope they look at monorail next. Many people forget the sheer amount...- James

Brighton: i360 Tower
Dragging this topic from the depths. Brighton i360 closed with immediate effect yesterday Administrators were appointed in November and yesterday 109 staff (that seems like a lot for this type of attraction?) were made redundant with the attraction closed. Brighton i360 owe the local council...- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
If/when Spinball goes, I would rather see a new indoor theatre/arena built on the space so we can see the return of a proper show you can sit down to.- James

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved
Quoting myself (arrogant, I know). Within the current application limit, it could be that they are revising what to do. If they keep the existing building permission, they could get this going by June 2026 for a 2029 opening (three years after the new CBeebies coaster). Alternatively, we could...- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
Stranger things have happened. I could be wrong, just a guess. But... I agree with this and thinking that with this new coaster something will be removed for it to take place. Maybe or maybe not Spinball. But something in that area will be going to make way for this. It would also fit the trend...- James

[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster
Bye bye, Spinball? This announcement feels random. I'm unsure if more Cbeebies stuff is needed, but it'll get families through the door. They need more flats. 🤞- James
