With PP looming will local authorities relax Alton planning restrictions to protect jobs?
I think the biggest 'threat' is to the people and business counting on this to happen. I don't think it will happen, or at least not within the timescales being talked about. Look at the Spanish park, construction was due to start in January 2014, with the park due to open next year, but the...- haydn!

Why would a Zamperla be a bad thing? Especially if it's a more custom design layout. Disney parks are full of Zamperla rides!- haydn!

Gerstlauer use a combination of tubular and box supports on their Junior Coaster model as can be seen in this picture. It's the same coaster used for Troublesome Trucks so could be a fairly decent little addition!- haydn!

Well, the pictures of the supports suggest it may not be so off the shelf, or at least not a flat pack ride like that! So I'm starting to feel a little more positive about it now.- haydn!

Are we sure its a coaster/ride? Even the junior Zamperla/Gerts coasters have individual support footings not solid bases. It could be a new flat or even a building of some sorts.- haydn!

Marketing Future - Opinions Please!
Couldn't disagree with this more. With the exception of Disneyland Paris logo, which works because of the iconic Disney font, the others look incredibly bland, amateur and boring. For the example the spacing on 'Land' is awkward, and each could have easily been created with word art! I'm not...- haydn!

RCT4M- New RCT Mobile Game?
Okay, graphics, gameplay wise it's nothing compared to the original games. But for a 'fermium' game, it's doing a pretty bad job at taking my money. Apart from the £1.99 to buy it, it's cost me nothing. You can quickly, and easily earn coins and tickets (which allow you to buy the premium...- haydn!

Re: 2014: Old MacDonald's Farmyard Developments Whilst I agree Alton Towers should be trying to be better than Drayton Manor and co, there is a reason those Zamperla rides are in practically every park, including Disney parks, and that's because they're popular! Sometimes, especially after a...- haydn!

Re: 2014: Old MacDonald's Farmyard Developments No. They haven't. Alton Towers have never, and will never, advertise themselves as "second to Disney" and to remark they have is a ridiculous interpretation of a scarcely used fact in the public domain. Merlin use that quote only in the group...- haydn!

2014: Family Developments
If I'm reading the letter correctly, only additional building space, or additional theming requires planning permission and is therefore included, so all existing buildings and scenery could also be rethemed/replaced in addition to these extra bits detailed, so there is potential for a lot of...- haydn!

Not sure I like the shadows on the homepage. Think I preferred the original style a bit more. But the new news boxes are pretty cool with the fading images (except the shadows again).- haydn!

I know there has been lots of banter, about how the park have ruined the ride and it will never be the same again. If Chessington deliver something even half as good and detailed as the last few concepts posted here, it will be far far better than the original! Awesome work :)- haydn!

Legoland for South Korea - 2015
I'm guessing this involves either government subsidy or some formal partnership with another company. I can't imagine Merlin stumping up $100m single handedly. Looks great though! But... risky location considering the neighbours? Though, Merlin are experienced in dealing with neighbours...- haydn!
