    TowersStreet Site Discussion & Feedback

Nah, keep the lower-case only. It's softens the image, making it appear more casual and friendly. Shame the logo is all shouty and aggressive :P

I like the new menu bar, though a few comments. The gold looks more like dirty yellow, even on the logo so probably needs a little touch up. On the menu drop-downs, I'm not sure black is the best colour choice on hover, maybe try the dirty yellow gold.

    Chessington World of Adventures Resort

It's hardly a cash cow when they plough more money into it than they take away. Chessington doesn't get bigger investment because it doesn't make enough money now to warrant it. If it's only making £1-2m profit a year, £6m invested shows Merlin are still willing to put 3 times more into the park...

    TowersStreet Progress Discussion

Looking at Facebook, redesign hell, the 'wall area' dimensions have never really changed despite it's numerous re-designs. That's not coincidence, it's because it's already the right size for optimal usability. Whilst I agree you need to keep the website up to date in terms of technology, you...

Major New Accommodation in 2014 - Themed Lodges (Cancelled)

Re: Major New Accommodation in 2014 - Themed Lodges This is probably going to end up like the Hotel extension application a few years back anyway. Eventually granted, only to expire several years later because the 'time wasn't right'.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park Well after watching the POV. I see why Thorpe Park chose to advertise a 'sign' as their new(ish) for 2013 attraction instead of X.

    Stock Market Floatation

Oh trust me, if any park under performs, it will pay the price even though that performance could be hidden away in consolidated figures. The changes to Merlins structure have been done simplify reporting and consolidate costs as the company expands into new regions and markets. Merlin will...

    2013 park map

I don't get why the map needs to be a perfect representation? It's not like the park is impossible to navigate without one. There is plenty of signage everywhere and numerous information points across the park. The map is, and should be a fun, abstract representation that emphasis's the fun and...

    The Flume

And, in other news... What kind of time frame do we realistically see towers looking to replace the flume. The development plan seems to rule it out for the next 3-4 years at least which gives manufactures time to bring something completely new (and wet) to the market.

    Drayton Manor 2013 Topic

I don't think they've deliberately included Maelstrom or Storm Force 10, I think it's just the angle of the photograph they've imposed the women on to which is largely unedited.

Pick the right artist and it could be sold out in minutes.

Major New Accommodation in 2014 - Themed Lodges (Cancelled)

Re: Major New Accommodation in 2014 - Themed Lodges I was thinking this the other day, though I doubt they've forgotten, the planning application does appear to be taking quite some time to process.

    2014: Family Developments

There's been some talk that Aardman Studios are looking to expand other characters beside Wallace & Gromit into theme parks and attractions after the already expected success of Blackpool. This talk has focused on Asia, but what's to stop Shaun the Sheep, and those amazing (but old but now dated...

Disneyland Paris 2014: 'Ratatouille' dark ride

The third park planned, is more of a nature park instead of a theme park, and sits outside the giant circular perimeter road, despite their being ample space within this. http://disneyandmore.blogspot.co.uk/2010/12/disneyland-paris-unveil-tomorrow.html

Disneyland Paris 2014: 'Ratatouille' dark ride

Agreed! Although all the 'quick fixes' - Toon Studio, Toy Story Playground and Tower of Terror - have all been great, the park is really disjointed and still way too small! There is masses of space at the back they could expand into, if only they hadn't trapped themselves in with the studio tour.

Disneyland Paris 2014: 'Ratatouille' dark ride

And even that was pretty lacklustre by Disney's usual standards. There's the rumours of them adding Toy Story Mania, but wouldn't that be too similar to Buzz Lightyear? They need to look at ditching Autopia and building an entire new land (Avatar Europe or maybe even Cars Land 2) in that area...

Disneyland Paris 2014: 'Ratatouille' dark ride

I guess they've been poor because of all the financial problems the resorts experienced over the last 20 years. Is all the 150m they recently secured for developments going on this ride, or can we expect something new in the Disneyland park too soon?

    Project Dolphin

They were created at a time when Alton Towers we're putting emphasis on "making memories" and were looking at all different types of experience attractions they could add to the resort. The artist impressions for the improved Towers Street, tree top play ground and interactive elements in the...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

I believe the Lego parks come under their own separate division? The best performing park in the Merlin portfolio when you look at margins, and profit per guest is actually Thorpe Park, or certainly was a few years ago.
