Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
Don't forget the fact that turning the ride on would also electrify the bus bar that provides power to the cars. Anyone in the ride area could be at risk of death by electrocution if they believe the ride to be switched off. I know bus bars are usually partially insulated, but they still provide...- DistortAMG

Galactica's Future
What is your basis for concluding that the ride seems to be really popular with guests? Do you have specific data or information, or is it based on usual rather long queue times. The latter being an important factor because of mentioned technical difficulties meaning the ride is very often on...- DistortAMG

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
You see everyone I knew thought the exact opposite. Maybe it was the age range, as we were young teenagers at the time? In any case, it was a hit for the park in the first seasons as it hugely boosted park attendance. It did exactly what it was designed to do in that respect and bring people to...- DistortAMG

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
Tell me you never went to Alton Towers in 2002 without telling me...air was a HUGE success. The marketing for the ride was massive too, one of the biggest campaigns, the ride was all over TV, newspapers and even breakfast cereal. For a good time after opening, air always had the biggest queues...- DistortAMG

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
So true, I remember Pirate Adventure at Drayton, the whole thing was pretty much made of OSB chipboard. As soon as you walked off stage so to speak, it was all just bare and unpainted as you would see in on the shelf in B&Q.- DistortAMG

If you like those, davelandweb has some cool photos of POTC from May of 1991. More than what I post below. The website doesnt caption the photos, I am pretty familiar with the ins and outs of the ride, so ill do my best to caption the photos from said website below. As is normal during...- DistortAMG

Paultons Park: General Discussion
I'm not sure about that point. Gerst are the manufacturers, they dont put the ride together. As is the same with any coaster. It will be assembled by a competent UK contractor. It will be just as easy for said contractor, to take parts of the ride down and put it back together, exactly how they...- DistortAMG

I think there is the lift block, then the pre lift block. First car is on the lift block, second is on the pre lift block.- DistortAMG

Summer Spectacular 1999
I do not know much about this show, apart from the fact it was on the lake in the 1999 and 2000 summer seasons, featured stunts from the Royal Marines stunt team and was loosely themed to Oblivion, which was very new at the time. The main lake setup that featured part of the show was...- DistortAMG

At this point I think I am more shocked at the fact people are still shocked over the long term poor ride availability, that has gone on for season after season.- DistortAMG

A few more, sorry for the double post. These are all construction photos from POTC @ DLP. These were lying on my hard drive. Not sure if I posted these before or not. A few Pirates of the Carribean behind the scenes photos for anyone who's interested. Found them on my old hard drive. The first two are 100% Paris. I have a feeling the last two are California. Slightly off topic, but I found the 1974 operators manual for the Californian ride if anyone is...- DistortAMG

I second this, I cannot wait to watch; Webmaster: An Adventure on Hot Ice. Although, I am sure Fountain Square would be renamed Mandy Square. However, there is no doubt the Fantastic Fountains would be back almost over night. You could almost certainly kiss goodbye to your big ride...- DistortAMG

Nintendo Switch 2
The OG PS3 models had a full PS2 chipset on the mainboard, allowing full native backwards compatibility with every single PS1 and PS2 game. Those fetch quite a bit of money now, as Sony revised the design not long after launch, so the console was still the OG fat model, but without the PS2...- DistortAMG
