    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

Because it is cheaper for the park to offer a £5 food voucher, than physically give £5 off. The food you buy for £5, would cost less than that for the park to purchase for their catering outlets. It makes them more money to charge £25 and give a £5 off for food, than just charging you £20. It...

    AI Coaster Fun

I heard they all went on a "mad one" after drinking in the bars. They even tried to steal the cleaning truck.

One more, double post, whip me. Goosey is clearly not happy with the lack of meaningful water rides at the resort, especially with this warm weather.... A 'lively' Battle Galleon takeover did go ahead though, much to the dismay of the park guests and ride staff...

You dont get the wasps like AT though. The density of the park also provides more shade? No? Plus a little dip in the sea after.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

You are not wrong in what you say here, and make many points of interesting discussion that need more talking...😀 But let's specifically define what we mean by operating window, relative to Hyperia, and specifically to the point we are discussing here, just so we are all on the same page...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Okay then. Show me a single modern rollercoastrr that uses LSMs, LIMs, brakes or transports on banked track. Ive made it easy for you. I suppose you could install them on straight track before the element, that would not work in Hyperias case though as it would require a large re design of the...

    Disneyland Abu Dhabi

Exactly how Disney did it back in the 1950 and 60's, with the worlds fairs. Many of Disneys early technology like ride transit systems and audio animatronics were heavily boosted or outright created this way, all at no cost to Disney, rather the world fair pavillion sponsors funding the huge...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Correct me if I am wrong, but placing LIMs or LSMs on banked track is extremely difficult / almost impossible, as the banking of the track doesnt allow proper distance between the train and motors. Something that needs extremely precise and constant distances to work. Exactly the same reason...

    2025: General Discussion

I think its important to remember, people dont act, follow rules or behave like they did 30 years ago. I dread to think what chaos would be caused having the tik tok generation, stuck on the Skyride, in intense heat. It's more trouble than its worth, better to close the thing. Skyride has back...

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

Me too, my only guess is these phone networks have huge pockets and money talks, especially to any arm of the government full stop, but in this case, specifically to one who would over see protection of such a tower.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

In fact, tightening things up willy willy to whatever tighness you want, as was suggested, is not only dangerous, it can have outright catastrophic consequences for the safety of riders and the ride. A huge, huge no no. You tighten things to specification, as outlined by the manufacturer.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Everything stated there boils down to the operating parameters of the ride. The ride clearly has a VERY slim operating window it can operate in without stalling, and without the park having to adjust the things you have mentioned to try widen the operating window. That in itself, is a design...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

It is absolutely down to bad design. Lots of coasters do valley, but that is totally besides the point being put forward here.

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

Apologies, no intention to cause offence. It could be many reasons, it could be part of a wider plan to place many panels on lots of buildings across the park. With this specific building currently out of use, it makes installation right now, mid season, perfect. Because it causes no disruption...

Good to see the system being refilled, testing 'should' be imminent. With a re opening very soon🤞

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

Because it provides a convenient roof to place the panels on? The power generated by them doesnt have to be used in the building they are placed upon, making the building they are placed upon, irrelevant. We have these great things, called electricity cables, they are AMAZING for carrying...
