The battle of the worlds best manufacturer

I don’t really have a favourite manufacturer. I think there are great examples from many different companies. And they each serve a purpose in the industry. Turning everything into a competition or vote is counterproductive to discussion in my eyes.

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

If it was Dynamos ghost train would you refer to it as “straight magicians VR gash train” ? Very odd phraseology

I was just a trainee at the time so I have obviously been misinformed. But I do know the lack of paperwork ranged from cleaning procedure all the way through to food storage checklists, but now looking into it deeper after your post, you are right. There must have been more management were...

An interesting post from Chessington showing how the trains go for winter maintenance on Mandrill Mayhem, is it usual procedure for one train coasters not to have a maintenance shed? I know for example the troublesome trucks train gets removed yearly and so do family boomerangs. I just thought...

I once worked at a restaurant which followed all the guidelines and went out its way with cleaning and food hygiene routines. Yet it received a one star rating because the laziness of the head chef meant its paperwork was not being completed correctly or at all in some cases, so there was no...

    Smiler vs Nemesis

You undoing the progress of your previous post by assuming it’s roughness again. People have expressed many different reasons they prefer Nemesis. I myself as I’ve said prefer nemesis but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy The Smiler (I don’t particularly but that’s beside the point as I’m...

[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation

Surely this “increase in gravity” would have impacted it’s finally years of service and not just after a re track

[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation

I don’t really see that noticeable of a difference myself, just looks like it’s up to speed. There are bound to be slight differences here and there whether it be magnetic brakes or the lift hill. 1994 B&M technology is vastly different from what we have in 2024. I also think it’s worth...

    Smiler vs Nemesis

Agreed, going to make you feel old rob (not sorry) but nemesis is older than me, yet it has always been up there as my favourite towers coaster. I have nostalgic feelings for rides, I adore RMT and Shockwave for those reasons but they are far from being ranked as the best coasters I’ve ridden.

Did you not read their post? He literally said it has nothing to do with roughness from his perspective Edit - double post @rob666 … whippings?

    Smiler vs Nemesis

Yes that’s true, I guess when I say problem I am looking at it from a cost perspective. The retrack is a very costly project alone but to have to landscape for a new attraction instead would add even more to that cost I’m sure. Anyway straying a little of topic, as I don’t see the smiler...

Maybe the conclusion you should have drawn is that every enthusiast has an opinion and not everyone likes the same thing

    Smiler vs Nemesis

I’m pretty sure they actually considered it, I recall it being mentioned in a Q&A I attended, but it was quickly u turned on. As you say it’s limited layout wise as to what exactly would have gone in its place without some changes to the typography of the site, but I’m sure plenty of...

I think height plays into it at times too. I’m 6ft and find I can position my head away from the restraints easy enough to reduce any head banging. But my mother who is shorter really struggles to ride The Smiler and Saw as her head just becomes a pinball in between the otsr.

    Smiler vs Nemesis

There’s a feeling I get on Nemesis dropping off that lift hill and into the first corkscrew, it’s just so unique and magical it can’t be explained. The Smiler just doesn’t do that to me, my favourite part about cresting the lift hills on The Smiler is the views of the towers and beyond… not the...

    Smiler vs Nemesis

Nemesis by an absolute country mile for me, it’s a layout with purpose and not just loops for loops sake. A lot more re rideable too

[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

It’s very intriguing to see the plans for this project, I was thinking to myself towers are known for digging down for their attractions, so would this be the first major project to be elevated above an area instead of level to or in a pit/hole?. I’m struggling to think of any obvious examples
