Emerald Park (Formerly Tayto Park), Dublin: General Discussion
Aww, shame if the initial opening dates will be next year instead of this year. As Diogo mentioned, I've got a bit of a family gathering in Ireland in August - they're only in Co. Wicklow, would be easy enough to drive up there! Saying that I DO have an Irish coaster credit :p No idea what...- Kelpie

Merlin Annual Pass 'Sale'
DFS get away with their never ending 'sale' because the sale is always only on a particular 'collection' of sofas - not the whole store's offering. So they just rotate round which collection is on sale, and keep within the trading rules of the higher cost having applied for 30 days. Trading...- Kelpie

Merlin Annual Pass 'Sale'
I'm not a marketing bod, but if Merlin renamed their passes to what they truly are I suspect everyone would start viewing them differently and without the same level of grumbling and feeling they're being ripped off - even being charged the same price (or more) for them. Say the present...- Kelpie

Merlin Annual Pass 'Sale'
Another year, another decision not to bother buying a MAP... I only live 15 miles from Thorpe, can get to Chessington & LegoLand in 45 minutes, and can drive to Alton Towers in 3hrs, so I wouldn't want to be buying a one park only pass either. It isn't the cost. Truly, it can't be, because...- Kelpie

The writing is on the wall
Noah, Jacob, Joshua, James, Ethan... Damn them all coming from some religious book out of the Middle East. Tainting our proper British names with their Hebrew origins.- Kelpie

Disneyland proposal for Clacton-on-Sea
So there is a by-election in Clacton-on-Sea happening shortly, and this is one of the candidates proposals: build Disneyland there! And the aim also stated here :) So.... loony or not?!- Kelpie

Alton Towers Hotel Manager Stabbed
Wherever that is quoted (about the Guides having phones taken off them - by who for starters? the Guide leaders? The park?), I would say the following things about this possible reported 'fact'. Firstly, as a Girl Guide leader who's taken Guides to camp, we recommend not bringing phones to start...- Kelpie

Braving the Cultural Chernobyl: Disneyland Paris from a first-timer
SMM2: I'd agree wholeheartedly with Sam's sentiment of SMM2's station (and I have ridden Space Mountain at Aneheim). SMM2 doesn't have a Jules Verne theme - it USED to have one. But they only got rid of half of it which leaves the station and some other theming elements in the queue line...- Kelpie

Scottish Independence yes or no?
They presently don't, but they have committed to joining it eventually, as per the terms of membership. No there isn't a time limit, and it can be put off (presently 18 of 28 EU members are in the Eurozone - as two are exempt, eight are in theory working towards adopting it), but the point is...- Kelpie

Scottish Independence yes or no?
Actually yes, they have - committing to adoption of the Euro is a requirement for all member states apart from the UK and Denmark. Now not all states have met the economic conditions yet to do so, but the proviso of joining the EU is that they will...- Kelpie

Scottish Independence yes or no?
How would it be a 'false flag' if the United Kingdom of Whatevers Left of Britain and Ireland [insert new name] chooses to retain it as it's own? It would just be the official flag of the new version of our country. We're assuming as an independent nation Scotland would adopt their present flag...- Kelpie

Scottish Independence yes or no?
Some thoughts and points: As a 'not fully independent' nation, as the SNP is proposing, would Scotland be able to remain in the EU with us? Or would they have to apply as their own country? Aside from the economic requirements, one of the rules of membership is the adoption of the Euro. I can't...- Kelpie

Scarefest 2013: Discussion
I think it's pretty categorical now Diogo and I won't be coming to the Scarefest meet, and very unlikely to go Scarefest at all. As I put before, our preferred way of doing it is to arrive Thurs night and have a full day on park on the Friday where its quiet and we can get a lot done. On 18th...- Kelpie

Scarefest 2013: Discussion
Firstly, I'm not a huge scare maze fan on the most part. I'm not so much scared of people jumping out at me, I just don't like it much. But I have done them (excluding 2010's BH and Carnival) for the last three Scarefests. My one experience of BH, 2011 (in the Black Hole tent) I can't say it did...- Kelpie
