[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin
They would surface it as it will need access at some point in the future anyway. Either way, there's nothing to prove whether or not it was intended to be a maze this year. This seems like a pointless debate. Maybe everyone should disagree and move on.- James

Christmas Season 2024
I feel there's potential in an expanded winter event for day guests, but given the issues during the main season, it’s best they concentrate on that before exploring new endeavours. It feels like they want to keep playing it safe. An expanded event comes with costs and risks that current...- James

[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin
I think if we only see a flat in Forbidden Valley next year, instead of multiple flat rides. It’s fair to question whether this over-engineering (and likely high cost) for the sake of one flat ride is worth it. They could have easily placed a new top spin on the existing site with minimal work...- James

Oblivion: General Discussion
I'm inclined to agree with Matt. This is a bit of a controversial opinion, I've never liked the theme of Oblivion. The theme has aged very quickly, and not in a good way. It's in dire need of a refurb. My only concern with Oblivion/X-Sector is that if they went down the route of keeping the...- James

2024: General Discussion
Alton Towers would be more than capable of creating a light trail in the gardens. Once you go past the cost of setting it up, it costs little to run and adds something extra to the event. The rapids being closed from 14th October is very poor. Closing after dark is fair enough, but for it to be...- James

Your predictions - 2025 > 2030
I think this year was the year to show where things are going, and unfortunately, it's more of the same: a shiny new ride alongside a park with rotting infrastructure and cuts everywhere. This season started off very promising; however, that has dwindled quickly, and it's clear Alton Towers...- James

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion
Blue sky thinking, but it would be nice to see Project Horizon and a TWODW overhaul happen simultaneously (over two seasons, perhaps) with something similar to what we're seeing proposed at Chessington with Project Refresh and Renew. New indoor coaster (Project Horizon), new theatre show/4D...- James

Hotels General Discussion
Sorry to drag the bar topic back up (I didn't get time to reply yesterday). I think 12am would be reasonable for at least one resort bar to stay open until (or until 1am when the hotels are busy/at capacity). Even better, adapt it to how busy it is each night. I don't think anyone would expect...- James

Hotels General Discussion
If music volume is a problem, turn the volume down. 🤷♂️ It’s so bizarre how they run the hotels. Sure, they mostly consist of families. But, keeping one bar open till late is hardly breaking the bank. There's so much potential to make the resort side of things more of an experience, with a...- James

Scarefest 2024
The TowersTimes/Attraction Source events are paid for, not free events for fans. I don't think it's anything to do with distancing from fan sites. Towers hardly engage with fan sites in an official capacity anyway. If anything, it's either poor customer service (Towers have now lost £££s for...- James

Barry Island Pleasure Park
They do open outside of school holidays, but there are no set dates or a pattern. It's very much weather-dependent and how the owner feels. During winter months, if the park is open, not all rides are available as they are having maintenance or TLC (or cannot operate due to the cold weather)...- James

Nemesis: Sub-Terra
Eurgh. I’m all for new lighting, but copying and pasting festoon lighting across the park feels cheap and lazy. This isn't Rollercoaster Tycoon. Get themed lighting in areas!- James

Scarefest 2024
Scarefest is likely a highly profitable event. Moreover, in the last few years, mazes have remained standing all year round and have been recycled. It’s the busiest and longest event of the year… they’re making money. I’m not sure if it’s still the case, but the fireworks event was certainly...- James

The amount of faff guests will cause going through such a process, too... I can't see it working in the UK. Too much faff, extra costs for staff, and no doubt more verbal aggression or violence toward staff.- James

Ideally, they should do both , along with more theming around the park (add a new piece or two every year to build up the atmosphere). Alas, budgets are tight... and Merlin.- James

Scarefest 2024
It would be nice to see at least one free maze, which they did with Carnival. Yeah, it would have an insanely long queue, but at least the option is there for guests who are a bit dubious about paying for the other mazes, and a freebie may actually encourage more people to spend money on the...- James
