The Alton Towers Dungeon
Using Twitter to find out about operations and pricing is about as reliable as a blunt pencil. Merlins official Twitter pages are at best confusing and contradicting one another.- Stuntman707

This should be good for the park. Roaming actors usually provide some good entertainment when walking around and it's something that will enhance guests days out.- Stuntman707

2019: Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop - Junior Drop Towers for CBeebies Land
Two drop towers sounds like a bit much for a gift. Probably just a complimentary force coaster with every refurb.- Stuntman707

It's literally orange, not like the spray paint on Nemesis, but actual rust in the structural supports. Its also been the least reliable B&M I've seen this year, and that's saying a lot for a B&M. (Aside from the chain breaking on The Swarm)- Stuntman707

The plans were already made for a hotel on the other side of the lake with a boat shuttle to the park. I imagine it would be similar to that. (Located in the last posted video).- Stuntman707

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
The last survey I did at Thorpe Park was asking questions about a new hotel so they are definitely thinking about this. It's the only Merlin Park without permanent accommodation. Merlin have been busy building new hotels at other parks too so this is probably the most likely speculation to be true.- Stuntman707

Had a look at the menu for Sticky Sisters but it was quite expensive. Without the MAP discount on top of that, I'd rather go elsewhere. I think the Fish and Chips outlets have the best chips because they have different fryers.- Stuntman707

2019: Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop - Junior Drop Towers for CBeebies Land
I have a theory that Alton Towers is adopting the same tactics as popular video games. Sell the full entry ticket, then add on the season pass. Already got the stores and fastracks to skip the grinding. HB Leisure's your gambling. Now add in the premium attraction content behind the ticket gates...- Stuntman707

On the subject of turnstiles, is it Skidata they use like the really reliable ones you get at various Ski resorts and car parks? Has to be down to badly printed barcodes. Of course NFC solutions like Magic Bands are way more reliable. There is a digital ticket solution they use for events but...- Stuntman707

Any speculation as to what vending machine it will be? Maybe a Pringles hoover? What snacks are lacking in that area? Would be nice to have more of a variety of savoury snacks at Merlin parks.- Stuntman707

The iPhone Thread
I'd say Huawei's Kirin 20nm SOC is ahead of Apple's actually from the benchmarks I've seen. It's so efficient, I can get through a day at work and still be on 80% battery when I get home. In terms of phone hardware, Huawei are leading by a mile. In terms of software, iOS may still have an edge...- Stuntman707
