Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Nah, it should have just been a dark ride. Maybe with 3D screens or something. The tube train was the big mistake, why simulate something you can ride anyway a few miles away.- jon81uk

Universal Epic Universe - New Florida Theme Park
Also a lot of people fly in and out at the weekend, or change hotels/resorts. So I think weekends have always been a bit quieter in the Florida theme parks as they are the arrival/departure days.- jon81uk

[🌎 Universal GB] Planning, Transport and Infrastructure
and the original Thorpe Park had a similar beginning to American Adventure, they were both former quarries. Thorpe of course then got a significant amount of new hardware when Tussauds took over in the 2000s.- jon81uk

[🌎 Universal GB] Planning, Transport and Infrastructure
and the utility works are probably the most important part, you don't want a park full of guests flushing the toilets for the first time that season and it flooding underneath your new ride.- jon81uk

Cadbury World - Merlin Take Over
Maybe it is new. There used to be the Aztec section as the first one but I think that was removed/changed at one point.- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
I've not eaten there in around 12 years so can't comment on quality, but in terms of the price/value don't forget although £29 (before discount) feels expensive it is a three course meal really. Crooked Spoon want £9.75 for the starter and £17 for a main. So even if you just have some nachos...- jon81uk

Cadbury World - Merlin Take Over
I haven't been to Cadbury World for probably twelve years but I can remember the Bull Street walkthrough about the beginnings of Cadbury Bros, I assume that is the history section you refer to? Then at the time was a movie with shaking seats about how chocolate is made before going on to the...- jon81uk

Have you ever self-spited yourself out of a roller coaster?
Took me three trips to Blackpool (all aged over 18) before I rode the Big One. Yet I did everything at Alton Towers, it was just the height that put me off. Once done it was such a let down really!- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
RCDB https://rcdb.com/1458.htm says Galactica contains an inline twist, which in terms of rollercoaster elements, is an inversion. I would say it does have an inversion, but agree it is weird because due to the nature of flying coasters you don't really go upside down, but you do invert from the...- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
Scenic Railway at Margate is SBNO and Tubtwist is a powered coaster so RCDB filtered it out when looking at Roller Coasters https://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&ol=26161&st=93&cs=277&ty=2&de=6 But still the two main coaster types Alton Towers are "missing" are a simple sit down non-inverting big dipper...- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
A Big Dipper that goes up and down and up again is the classic wooden coaster format, Blackpool has plenty of them. If any park is adding a wooden coaster that is what I would want, its a type of coaster the UK doesn't have enough of outside of Blackpool, Thorpe is full of twisty inverting...- jon81uk

Drayton Manor Park
Alton Towers generally though it is longer queues because there are more people visiting, they are still running rides at moderately high throughput (main issues of rides running much lower than they should are Get Set Go and the monorail). Whereas Drayton Manor could run more Haunting cycles...- jon81uk

Walt Disney robot. Yay or nay?
Disneyworld has a whole hall of president animatronics, I don’t see the issue with them having one of their founder at his original park.- jon81uk

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion
Again, what is BPB transitioning from and to? Paultons is not in a similar situation, they are building on good development with more good development. Chessington is removing older attractions and yes moving to something newer (and potentially transitioning away from being a zoo if the...- jon81uk

Monorail Refurbishment
WDW monorail is much higher capacity. AT needs more frequent trains to manage the capacity required so don’t think manual gates would work.- jon81uk
