I think only thing Alton need to learn from Thorpe is flat rides. Operations can be hit and miss at both parks, water rides as you’ve pointed out aren’t as important due to only having a seasonal appeal. If Towers had 3 decent flat rides then tbh I think there would be no debate anymore between...- Ethan

Agreed I think Oblivion copes with the reduced capacity much better. Even when Oblivion is on 1 station it doesn’t usually go above 40 mins- Ethan

I retract this statement. Galactica on 2 has proven time and time again it should be a crime- Ethan

Well for the first time in how many years it looks like Galactica is on 3 trains on a 4pm close so that’s a positive- Ethan

You know when I said that 1 or 2 rides being closed isn’t an issue…well today is a different story. Most the rides being delayed is becoming an issue- Ethan

Ye for most visitors free return visit doesn’t seem that beneficial. Personally free fastrack for whenever you next visit would be a great offer instead- Ethan

Where have you heard this said rumour. Would that not be put on the attraction availability page if it was planned to close before the end of the season. Anyway I’ve seen that Smiler is yet to open and that closed early yesterday. Anyone on park today know what the ops are like for the open...- Ethan

Alton Towers, Pass Holders Or Frequent Visitors?
About 45 mins away so used to go 2 or 3 times every week. Working full time now I’ve finished Uni so I won’t be going more than once a year now unfortunately. I could go at weekends but there’s no point with the queues- Ethan

My pass ran out 16th August and from March to August I managed 36 trips so I’m the same as you- Ethan

Ye but the point still stands that people are giving small updates for the sake of it to find a reason to dig at the park. Is the rapids opening later even news worth thinking about?- Ethan

You new to Towers street?😅 it’s always been like this. Jokes aside I do agree the constant negativity is a bit annoying- Ethan

I don’t mind it tbh. Williams world is dead before 11 anyway and Rapids don’t even need to be open this time of year- Ethan

You see this makes no sense to me because 10 years ago we didn’t have wicker man which is a decent capacity coaster so how did the park cope better back then. I can’t recall the lineup being much different except for some flat rides- Ethan

How did they ever reach 30k? The car park is full at 16-17k these days so where did all those extra cars go- Ethan

That’s an interesting point what height do you think it would be a high risk of someone falling out. On the Otsr 1.4m rides are people likely to fall out at 1.35m?- Ethan

Off course but it is silly because if you try and get your child on a ride when they’re below the height they could literally fall out- Ethan

1) If they’re willing to risk their childs safety then they shouldn’t be a parent 2) Children being stupid shocks nobody 3) Shows how incapable the general public must be- Ethan

Why do any of the rides need entrance hosts anyway. There are signs that indicate where everyone should go for the different queue lines- Ethan
