Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
I think more importantly you guys should stop using 1 or 2 ride closures as an excuse to claim the availability is bad. If multiple rides are closed at the same time then it becomes an issue but most the time it’s not been that bad this season- Ethan

It’s not my opinion. They’re the most popular 3 rides in the lineup. If you somehow think otherwise then you must be blind- Ethan

Not too much of an issue if Oblivion goes down. As long as they keep the core coasters (Nemesis, Smiler, Wicker man) open they should be fine- Ethan

The land is big enough to accommodate a family thrill ride like Wicker man. I think a woodie would add some great variety to the lineup- Ethan

That’s why I said Maurer spinners not Alton towers. I’m sure there are manufacturers that have these issues but it shouldn’t be the case because rides from the likes of Intamin and B&M cope just fine.- Ethan

Are you @rob666 with that level of pedanticness. Not most then a high percentage of coasters. I’ve seen videos of a lot of coasters operating around the world in rainy conditions without needing to reduce rider numbers. It must be a specific problem to Maurer spinners- Ethan

And do you blame them? The ride was open for a few days then it shuts and won’t open the rest of the year. If I were Cedar I’d be swinging at Zamperla and making their life miserable- Ethan

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
I meant for guest interpretation. 47mph gusts at 236ft will only be like 20mph on ground level. Thorpe should state what the wind equivalent of the ride height is at ground level so guests understand- Ethan

Can someone please help me understand this because it’s odd. Apparently Hyperia is closed due to high winds but yet the other coasters are open. According to Thorpe parks website Hyperia has the highest wind limit but yet is the first to close? The only thing I can think of is that wind speed...- Ethan

Is Oblivion now operating in the wind? Gusts are quite high so I’m surprised it’s open- Ethan

2024: General Discussion
Why are we talking about smoking and vaping? It says on the signs to not do it in the queues so people shouldn’t do it. I don’t care if you choose to vape that’s your own decision but the park make the rules clear that you shouldn’t do it in queues. If you’re seen breaking this rule then in my...- Ethan

Alton Towers vs. Thorpe Park: Strongest Top 3
Well I’m going to put the coasters in my personal order and then figure out which park has the better lineup. 1. Hyperia 2. Nemesis/Smiler 3. Wicker Man 4. Saw 5. Colossus 6. Inferno 7. Swarm 8. Stealth 9. Rita 10. Oblivion 11. Galactica 12. Th13teen So judging on the fact most the towers...- Ethan

No. No. No. Not having Hyperia in the top 3 is worse than not having Smiler in towers top 3- Ethan

Alton Towers vs. Thorpe Park: Strongest Top 3
I can’t vote on this because I disagree with the rides picked. I understand Swarm and Stealth are regarded as 2 of the best at the park but I personally think they’re the worst 2. Saw and Colossus may be a bit rough but at least they’re more interesting. Stealth is over in seconds and has...- Ethan

I think it might be a delayed response to the positive g force prior. For example Ritas 1st and 2nd hill you’re going up into the hill after positive g force. Same with Saw you go into the immelmann after pulling out the drop- Ethan

Yes that’s correct. I can think of 3 elements where my vision has dropped a bit. Nemesis helix- positive g force Saw Immelmann- negative Rita first hill- negative- Ethan
