I am 100% sure such a thing does not exist.

Red Bull Stratos - Highest Skydive Record Attempt

What Blaze said. Fingers crossed for Sunday, I think they've only got one more balloon left now (the balloons are so fragile that they have to be launched within a relatively short windown after being unpacked otherwise they are unuseable, so the balloon from yesterday can't be used again).

Red Bull Stratos - Highest Skydive Record Attempt

I'd not heard anything about this until earlier today. Currently pending launch, Felix Baumgartner will ride a helium balloon to 120,000ft before jumping out and skydiving/spacediving to Earth, potentially breaking the sound barrier on the way. Secret Weapon 7 Discussion

Personally, I hope this isn't true. Or at least, that they don't use the element to break the record, that would just be unpleasant. I think this may well be a good point to leave this topic although it may already be too late to avoid the spoilers. Farewell, SW7 discussion, may your spoilers be...

Do you hold a Merlin Annual Pass?

I don't think there's anything stopping you buying a new annual pass before your current one expires. I see no reason for Merlin to want you not to do it, the only reason against it is that under normal circumstances it would cost you more money.

Do you hold a Merlin Annual Pass?

I had one through Clubcard points but my pass expired in June. I'm currently waiting to build up enough points and get one probably around January time. Myself and my girlfriend will get one each, one through Clubcard points and the other in the January sale if they do it again.

    Duel Improvements 2012

I would say that Merlin have shown promise with Sub-Terra. I appreciate that it has had mixed reactions on this board, but pesonally I think in terms of hardware and theming it's excellent, it's just the story that needs more effort to tie it all together. I think the main problem is that the...

    Red Dwarf

I'm endlessly pleased that it was actually good. The Back to Earth special was unfortunately rubbish but this felt like a proper episode of Dwarf, which was always going to be a big ask given how fondly most of us feel about the original episodes. Looking forward to next week!

If I remember what was talked about from the Th13teen evening talk, when those banners were produced they almost certainly wouldn't have nailed down the fine details of the theme and the way the ride is branded. They will have just stuck with the more familiar X Sector colours to reinforce the...

    Scarefest 2012

Does anyone have any idea if these new lights are likely to be for floodlighting purposes (i.e. lighting everything brightly so it's safe at night) or if they are going to be used more artistically? As accurate as what Diogo said is, it would be nice to have a look at some then we can get a bit...

    Secret Weapon 7 Discussion

The thing is though, I would imagine the majority of the 70,000+ guests who they could be exposing it to, don't really care what the new ride is called. They want to know if it's fun, and no amount of marketing other than explicitly showing off the ride will do that. the 14,000 people who...

    Quick Questions 2012

Does anyone have any idea if they're likely to be offering discounted tickets for the first day of fireworks this season? I recall them doing something simlar last season but you were limited to coming after 3pm or so. Anyone got any idea?

Could it be possible that wherever they store the Oblivion merchandise that isn't in the shop will be the same place they store the extra SW7 merch that isn't in it's own shop, so they need to clear out some space in preparation?

I think that would be very foolish from the park's point of view. I would say that Oblivion is probably the ride with the strongest 'brand' around it. Equally, what we've seen of SW7 so far seems relatively bang in line with Oblivion's theme and X Sector as a whole.

    Secret Weapon 7 Discussion

I do think people are reading into the 'world beating' phrase in the wrong direction. Why wouldn't they market it as 'record breaking' if they were aiming for a world record like the inversion record? At the risk of turning into 'that guy who kept posting definitions of words from the internet...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Re: Thorpe Park Dark rides aren't really in Thorpe's remit though, they're all about the thrills. Unless they aim for the same sort of thing as Sub Terra, trying for all out scares, then I can't see it being that popular, and realistically if they're going to pour a few million into a new scare...
