Serious questions and musings
I don't know the field you're going in to or the background to these offers but generally my advice would be If you get offered a permanent job and that's what you'd prefer, take it. The other employer would probably understand, and if they didn't, so what? They don't own you As for future...- Martin

⚠️ Forum Announcement – Online Safety Act Changes
Other than manually adding in everyone known to be 18 by either being on a meet or having an account long enough to obviously be 18 (assuming no 4 year olds were making accounts in 2012) I don't see a way to do it that's fair or non invasive or totally secure- Martin

How often would you replace a phone or tablet?
I kept my last phone (Note 10+) for years until I smashed it (only phone I've ever done that to ffs) but before that I had a run of replacing it every two years or so at the end of the contract. My current one is up in a month or two but I'm not sure whether to upgrade straight away or enjoy a...- Martin

TST Film Review Thread
Well yeah exactly, it's a "what are we like, eh?" kind of thing, it is cynical really but it's done so well it's also why the film is so succesful with such a wide audience- Martin

TST Film Review Thread
The self aware whack-on-the-head-subtle girl-boss social commentary but-only-as-far-as-Matel-allow is very much part of the joke and it isn't trying to be Parasite or something, and you very much are overthinking it (This is not meant to talk the film down, it's great fun)- Martin

Celebrity Deaths 2025
I was only ever into it for like 6 months as a kid, when it was in Cardiff the other year was probably the first time I'd watched any of it in a decade and a half. But the lexicon, especially his, has had such a massive influece on me, probably just through it leaking onto the wider internet...- Martin

Best smartphone for theme park photography/videography
As a lifetime (well, since the smartphone takeover) Android user, the iPhone camera has always been better for real life use, regardless of what the stats say. But the Pixel and S25 are probably the best Android cameras. The Samsung Fold (my current phone is the Fold 5) doesn't quite have as...- Martin
