[2026]Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
The Smiler is the only coaster (I can think of) with a different layout on the application compared to the real thing, which was intended to hide the whole 14-loop world record. I would be very surprised if that were the case with this. It's a kids' coaster, so the proposed layout is likely...- James

Dot matrix screens
There was definitely one next to the Katanga waterfall, right next to the services/staff gate in Mutiny Bay near the KC sign, and on the entrance tower under the Alton Towers logo. I'm unsure if there was one near X-Sector or on the right-hand side of the park? It's not my picture, but here's...- James

Weight loss
I could copy and paste this as my own words as I'm in exactly the same position. I'm personally trying to approach it step by step. I've started going for regular walks and cutting down on the junk food (which is probably the biggest hurdle for me). Swimming is a great form of exercise and...- James

[2026]Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
Nothing at all. I was hypothesising whether the planned storage of the Chessington flats could be relocated to Towers. Just a random thought/idea. :)- James

[2026]Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
I wonder whether the ride system could be relocated, along with the Chessington rides going into ‘storage’ to Walliams World as a part of a re-theme alongside Project Horizon. A good way to create a new area on the cheap.- James

Chessington World of Adventures Resort
In a way, nothing has changed at Alton Towers. They are still consistently receiving new attractions, re-themes, and hardware yearly, with millions spent. Whereas Chessington, a park completely neglected by yearly investments, now seemingly has multiple projects in the pipeline of a significant...- James

Skyride General Discussion
The Skyride used to be a lifesaver for my mum, who has heart problems. Her mobility is limited now, so theme parks are now a no-go, but when we used to go as a family, the Skyride was vital for getting from A to B. I just hope they look at monorail next. Many people forget the sheer amount...- James

Brighton: i360 Tower
Dragging this topic from the depths. Brighton i360 closed with immediate effect yesterday Administrators were appointed in November and yesterday 109 staff (that seems like a lot for this type of attraction?) were made redundant with the attraction closed. Brighton i360 owe the local council...- James

[2026]Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
If/when Spinball goes, I would rather see a new indoor theatre/arena built on the space so we can see the return of a proper show you can sit down to.- James

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved
Quoting myself (arrogant, I know). Within the current application limit, it could be that they are revising what to do. If they keep the existing building permission, they could get this going by June 2026 for a 2029 opening (three years after the new CBeebies coaster). Alternatively, we could...- James

[2026]Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
Stranger things have happened. I could be wrong, just a guess. But... I agree with this and thinking that with this new coaster something will be removed for it to take place. Maybe or maybe not Spinball. But something in that area will be going to make way for this. It would also fit the trend...- James

[2026]Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
Bye bye, Spinball? This announcement feels random. I'm unsure if more Cbeebies stuff is needed, but it'll get families through the door. They need more flats. 🤞- James

Universal GB - Archived Pre Announcement Discussion
Would they be competing attractions? One is a theme park with rides, the other a studio tour with props and sets used in the real life films. Different types of attractions, different experiences. I think both would have good enough of a USP to coexist and both could even help one another. I see...- James

I wonder whether Harry Potter would be something they approach later rather than being part of the initial park. It could easily coexist with the studio tour and could benefit both, with international Potter fans wanting to visit the UK to do both attractions. A mix of IPs with one new/unique...- James

Alton Towers could do lots of things to differentiate themselves from Warwick. A light trail in the gardens would not make them a competitor to Warwick. I don't buy that argument/theory. There's a lot of potential for a winter event at Towers, and it did seem like they started trying until...- James

My brother and I had a similar experience in Nandos Cardiff last week. You usually order food via the QR code at your table. The website to order was not loading on mobile internet, and we could not connect to the Nandos Wi-Fi. So we proceed to the till to order. “Could we order here, as we...- James

Quick Questions
'YourDay' at Alton has been the most they've ever done. It was a mixture of stock footage and on-ride video. It felt pretty high-tech at the time. You were given a wristband to create a personalised DVD with all the clips taken throughout your day. It only lasted a few seasons. Personally, I...- James

Same here. *Picture that says ‘CHECK-IN’ on screen*. A staff member stood over you “Press that button to start”. I can read, thank you! I find it strange that they get touch screens to save the cost of having a staffed desk. Yet they still have the staff? Keep the desk in the first place! I...- James

I stayed in the ATH this year and quite enjoyed it. The food at breakfast was decent, and all the staff were lovely. Our room (Moon Voyager) was clean, although it looked a little worn. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I quite like receiving an email or text when your room is ready...- James
