Universal Orlando (Studios/IOA) : General Discussion

I have to agree, not a great look, but the ride will probably be pretty good. Out of interest, what's universals current slated opening for Epic Universe?

    Drayton Manor Park

Yes I know there are permitted development rights, but would've been interesting had they had to put in an application even for just a part of the layout. It seems it will be relatively short, likely to avoid the need for permission, so I'm guessing a launch coaster of some form is likely. As...

    Nigloland: General Discussion

Good news, and seems like it's a good fit for the park as there first inverting coaster. I can see why they'd continue there relationship with Mack for this project, there bound to get a reliable ride that isn't going to cause them too many headaches, seems the logical choice.

    Drayton Manor Park

So I'm guessing this new coaster isn't going to require planning permission? Because surely if it was needed they'd have done it by now, if not they're certainly cutting it close.

    Nemesis: Sub-Terra

Has anybody got any idea how many staff members they're cut with the reopening? We were all under the impression they'd want to cut staff, and I'm interested to see how they've done that now.

TS Mardi Gras Meet: Saturday, 10th June 2023

Take it from me, @MattyH prize delivering skills are not up to scratch at all, I won last year and still haven't received my prize.

    Drayton Manor Park

I'm well aware your joking but being serious if @John is right with the symbol for gold being the clue, it could see them doing a bit of a World of Fun and having a new coaster pay homage to an original coaster. I think this is unlikely though. As for what I think the clue is, honestly I have...

    The Brexit Thread

Right but when EU funding was propping up lots of our industries and certain area's (like Cornwall), it doesn't help that we've lost the last protection of these, and surely that can't help?

    Worlds of Fun: General Discussion

Yes I know, it was a short comment mainly aimed at the fact that although it doesn't matter to GCI all that much, it's that I'd liked to see more but I can't see that happening.

    Nemesis: Sub-Terra

Yes exactly my point. They simply needed to.

    The Brexit Thread

Exactly, the UK supermarket industry is incredibly competitive, there's so many different retailers and different loyalty schemes. Would be relevant if all economic models who that brexit was and is not going well for the UK economy. I agree that the war in Ukraine and the pandemic have had...

    Nemesis: Sub-Terra

Personally, I don't expect to see as many staff/actors as there might've been in the previous edition of this ride. I imagine they've slimmed it down as much as they can while still retaining a decent throughput.

    The Brexit Thread

I think your missing the point here? Some products might well be cheaper, but most are not. Furthermore you fail to notice it's not only food prices that people are claiming have gone up since Brexit. Overall it's been proven our economy has shrunk and isn't slated to grow as fast as it would've...

    SeaWorld Abu Dhabi: 2022

It Dubai the state doesn't exactly care if some things aren't making a profit as long as it's good image wise, they'll pay to keep these parks going because they make the state look better. The UAE has a very odd governmental system where all the different Emirates have there own royals, that...

    Worlds of Fun: General Discussion

Not so much off putting as a bit pointless for most parks. The standard chain lift does the job and I'm not sure a spiral lift is all that much of a gimmick, unless for example your a park like worlds of fun who have a history with such a thing. I like the idea just not sure how many of them...

    Worlds of Fun: General Discussion

No not at all, GCI will continue to sell lots of fun family coasters. I reckon they might struggle to sell there standard layout coasters with spiral lifts, I just don't really see the point for most parks.

    Worlds of Fun: General Discussion

I'm aware of this, but GCI might struggle to sell anymore, there's very few circumstances where a park might want something like this.

    Worlds of Fun: General Discussion

It's certainly an odd layout for a GCI but I think it looks pretty fun. Although I do wonder if we will see more of these, I'm not sure who exactly they are trying to appeal to with the spiral lift.

    Nemesis: Sub-Terra

I can see them perhaps doing some basic merch, I wouldn't expect too much. I think they've reopened sub-terra for two reasons, capacity and to help market nemesis reopening, that's when I reckon we will some a massive merch drive.

    Southport Pleasureland

Has there been any news on the coaster? We seem to have heard very little since the application was approved.
