2018: Wicker Man - Pre-Opening Discussion
Oops, I'd forgotten that Lightning Rod is the hybrid type of RMC instead of their higher wood content model! In that case yes, Towers would be very likely to advertise it as the world's first.- Cheese

2018: Wicker Man - Pre-Opening Discussion
There's surely no way that Merlin would agree to allocate Towers a budget for a bog standard GCI woodie. 'Europe's first launched wooden coaster' seems quite likely to be what Marketing will be spamming the press with as the ride takes shape, I'd say, at least based on what we can see so far...- Cheese

2018: Wicker Man - Pre-Opening Discussion
Like many of you, I feel like I should be delighted to hear that a GCI woodie is coming to Towers. Alas, I am not. I'm a big fan of Wodan, so I know that a short ride can be mind blowing, but I'd hoped that when a woodie eventually appeared at Towers it would be significantly more substantial...- Cheese

Rollercoaster Restaurant: General Discussion
On opening night we were asked whether we'd be drinking, so I presume they can set the menu to not show alcohol or at least have some way of recording which tables have underage guests seated.- Cheese

Mini Meet Drayton Manor, Saturday 4th June
Splendid! For anyone else interested in attending, I believe you now have about an hour and three quarters left in which to book a ticket at £23.- Cheese

Mini Meet Drayton Manor, Saturday 4th June
Despite its lack of outstanding attractions, Drayton Manor is a park that has consistently given TowersStreet groups good days out, and I usually like to have a trip there around this time of year. Not a lot changes from year to year, though as you may be aware The Haunting (in previous years a...- Cheese

Capacity and Throughputs - Do they matter all of the time?
No, on a park-wide level ride capacity is certainly not everything. It would clearly be daft for a park to only install a ride if it can chew through the contents of a sizeable cattle pen in 20 minutes flat. As you pointed out Rick, such a policy would exclude a lot of popular ride types and...- Cheese

Trip Planning: Information, advice and questions!
^ This, to be honest. Throughput is Serious Business at EP, and getting in its way can result in some staff getting peeved. Even the park's majority of polite hosts prioritise getting buttocks onto seats and restraints down above all else.- Cheese

Paultons Park: General Discussion
Good god no, I'm hardly expecting Kvasten to be uncomfortable; the SFC and SLC seating arrangements are virtually incomparable. I just wonder whether the 'Vekoma factor' still affects this ride type to some extent.- Cheese

Paultons Park: General Discussion
I'm rather looking forward to giving Flight of the Pterosaur a go after the tiny Jimmy Neutron SFC at Movie Park Germany. It was the first Vekoma I'd been on that felt 100% competently engineered. I'm also supposed to be going to Grona Lund later this year, and it'll be interesting to see how...- Cheese

Drayton Manor Park
A large warning for what usually isn't that big a deal. G-Force only has one train anyway. Admittedly the guidance on making it first ride is spot on. Dispatches are actually quite quick, but with only 12 seats available to trundle through uncomfortable mediocrity at a time the wait can often be...- Cheese

Stuttgart Sojourn: Tripsdrill & Holiday Park
Excellent report Ben. I really enjoyed reading this and your Italy report. These were more or less my thoughts too. We were told that Karacho's launch was running below maximum power to allow them to reduce the height restriction. Quite frankly the kids could've got stuffed for all I cared, as...- Cheese

Drayton Manor Park
I don't think there's any particular time to avoid Leah really, or at least no more than any other park. Operations are usually alright, and the lack of fastrack means a queue gets the ride's full capacity. Perhaps a Sunday early in May? I've been once or twice a year since 2011, and it's been...- Cheese

TS International Road Trip 2016
I would respectfully suggest Hazbriz that you (or anybody else interested in a trip abroad who's yet to attend a meet) come along to some UK meets and mini meets first before sticking your name down. It's nothing personal, but simply that when you're arranging an intense week or two of...- Cheese

The Magic Has Reappeared!
What Matty said. You might want to tell us what you think the positives are. That's how first posts in forum topics work; you start, we discuss. :) At the moment people could conclude from your post that there's nothing much to be positive about, which I'm sure was not your intention.- Cheese

Food and Beverage 2016
The main draw of a theme park is indeed its rides and themed areas, of course, and no, I don't go to a park to eat all day. However, a day at a theme park consists of more than just being in queues and going on rides. People have to get lunch, and will remember whether the food and guest service...- Cheese

The big steak pasty that can be bought at the Mutiny Bay pasty place is probably one of the best options for lunch in the park at the moment. Now there's a depressing thought.- Cheese
