    Liseberg: General Discussion

This looks like a pretty decent layout for a 6-across dive machine. It might not break the mould for the ride type, but it does look like a more substantial ride than either Baron or Krake, and I was concerned that something directly comparable to those was on the cards. Sent from my XT1032...

    Freizeitpark Plohn: General Discussion

I hope the cars have beefed up seat supports compared to Lost Gravity to sort out the vibration. Apart from that concern, this should be a really good addition for the park, which currently lacks anything really outstanding. Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk

Is it time to rethink the SW series?

'Secret Weapon' is a term that's only really used as a nod to folks like us. It doesn't feature in any actual marketing for a ride beyond the initial "we're up to something" webpage or the "find our construction site here" marker on a map, so it means nothing to the vast majority of the park's...

    Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

Jules Verne meets Star Wars looks about as daft as the idea of making SM:M2 into Hyperspace Mountain always sounded, unless there are external changes to come. Given that this hopefully isn't a long term thing though, I do actually hope it's left alone, and that the interior will get a good 'De...

    Robot Wars returns!

It was a good start to the series, I thought, though I agree that the format causes issues. Quite frankly I don't understand why people would build and enter an ineffective Nuts, Jellyfish or Gabriel when there's a good chance of a monster like Aftershock or Carbide shredding it, but if they're...

    Drayton Manor Park

I think this is much more likely to be their own generic racing theme. The cars shown appear to be airbrushed representations of the MNR Vortx, an obscure example of countless Caterham 7-style kit cars that are available (I hadn't heard of it until now). I'm no Hot Wheels expert, but I know they...

    The I Feel Down Topic.

I'm not usually a fan of Ed Sheeran, but last night I listened to his uncharacteristically excellent 'Castle on the Hill' properly and found myself upset as if I'd lost something or someone. What was it? It's not the innocence of childhood, I don't think. Mine was nowhere near as edgy as the...

    Drayton Manor Park

That model would surely use LIMs or drive tyres instead of the troublesome compressed air launch systems S&S have tried on thrill coasters. As far as I know that would be the first of its kind built, but it's not a very inspiring looking machine is it?

    Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

It's nice to see the new trains with vest restraints confirmed after all these years, even if I don't think this particular Vekoma needs them anywhere near as badly as a lot of others. I'm very surprised to see they've gone for the standard MK1212 bodyshell though; I was expecting something...

Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley 6 - 7/5/17

Very tempted by Lightwater at least. Less sure about Flamediocreland; I'd be more keen to go and find some trains or check out The Forbidden Corner.

    2018: Wicker Man - Pre-Opening Discussion

Agreed, and quite frankly that's not good enough. Smiler's main queue moves awfully slowly before ride close gets rid of fastrack and exit riders and finally gives main the full capacity. I'm expecting this to have an even lower throughput, so I'm not looking forward to the queue times.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Icon - 2018 Mack Double Launch Coaster

The speed of the launch itself is not the important bit. What matters is the speed that the track that follows has been profiled for. If, for instance, the train is travelling a lot slower over an airtime hill than the person doing the maths intended, the airtime is likely to be greatly reduced...

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Icon - 2018 Mack Double Launch Coaster

Don't remind me. How galling would it be to take your seat on what looks like the best new ride to come to the UK in years, only to find out that it's very obviously been neutered by a reduced power launch?

    Europe road trip

I haven't done Bobbejaanland, but I've not heard good things, and from my own experiences of the other two in August I'd suggest that you drive on past them. If you must do one make it Walibi Belgium, but it's vastly inferior to Walibi Holland.

    Winter Wonderland 2016

Don't confuse this with me not wanting this to happen, because I absolutely do, but I'm afraid I shall remain sceptical until photos of chunks of Schwarzkopf being assembled in Hyde Park appear online.

Thorpe Park 2017: DBGT: Rise of The Demon

That's one of my (many) frustrations with DBGT, Owen; the ride experience is completely different in both tone and content to what the queue sets guests up for. Then you're rushed getting your headsets on, at which point four-eyed guests like me will find that their glasses won't go under the...

    TST Loo Users... POO-NITE!

Yes, 10 would be pretty optimistic for me actually. Not that I tend to sit there watching the minutes go by. I find having to **** against the clock to be among the worst lavatorial experiences possible.

    Energylandia (Poland): General Discussion

Thinking back to watching them last night, I actually preferred Vekoma's layout, but I have to echo the comments already made about Intamin being a saf...um, better bet for a coaster of that scale. Somebody's got to give these new Vekoma designs a chance though, surely? Vekoma's newer family...
