TST Loo Users... POO-NITE!
I know from experience that the kind of illness you're on about is very unpleasant indeed, so you have my sympathy Nat, but 10 minutes sounds pretty rapid if you're that unwell to be honest. I can spend that long carrying out the evacuation, ensuring that the property is empty and performing the...- Cheese

I've got mixed views on this. Loke should be fantastic. I love the idea of the gondola sweeping up over the roof of Balder's station, and lap bars and Intamin's superior build quality when compared to Zamperla should make this a better ride than the previously rumoured Giant Discovery...- Cheese

Fair enough Martin, each to their own. :) You rated Wildfire a fair bit higher than I did too, and like Taron that's a really good ride that nonetheless didn't blow me away. What I do wonder is whether Taron is a coaster that can vary a lot depending on the temperature and resulting choice of...- Cheese

Drayton Manor Park
It's a possibility, but unless the next one to be built gets a revised car design, I'd be less pleased with a BigDipper than I'd like to be about a new Mack coaster. The outside seats on Lost Gravity have an awful lot of vibration for a brand new coaster, and I really wonder how well it will...- Cheese

Drayton Manor Park
If those two rides are departing the park then it's no great loss in my opinion. Flying Dutchman is inoffensive, but nothing special. Pandemonium, however...good riddance! It's hardly one of Fabbri's best products. Lifting the whole ride structure before it can start its cycle instead of...- Cheese

Mini Meet Saturday, 24th September
Count me in! If anyone without a MAP would like to come, by the way, I found a passholder's 'share the fun' £10 entry voucher recently that probably needs using before my pass expires.- Cheese

The quotes above pretty well sum up my approach to theme park merchandise. I won't get merchandise for a park I haven't been to or a ride I haven't been on, and even if I have experienced something, I have several criteria that the merch needs to meet for it to be worth buying: Do I like the...- Cheese

I haven't done a Huss Giant Frisbee to compare the Giant Discovery to, but Tusenfryd's SpinSpider is the latter and is fantastic. The spin isn't particularly pronounced and there isn't much force, but the rush of air around you as you go through the rest position from the ride's maximum swing...- Cheese

I'm not sure what to think about this. I quite like Spinrock for the way it really gets into its stride half way through the ride cycle. Still, if the replacement does turn out to be a Giant Discovery, one of the few good Zamperla rides I've done being replaced by the single genuinely amazing...- Cheese

Phantasialand: General Discussion
My expectations for Taron based on the POV released were a very good coaster in amazing surroundings, but not something particularly mind-blowing to ride. However, when people who've been on it start slinging words like "ejector" and "relentless" around you start thinking a coaster might deliver...- Cheese

Camelot - gone for good?
Knightmare rode pretty similarly to Jetline (i.e. absurdly well for a coaster with no airtime or inversions really to speak of), but the magnetic block/trim brakes on Jetline make trains take the second half more slowly. The last block, being spat out of a right helix into a tight left hander...- Cheese

New Flat Rides At Alton?
Liseberg's Jukebox is the Gerstlauer Polyp mentioned by Burbs on the first page. That makes at least three of us that want one in Dark Forest! It's a fantastic machine that would suit Towers down to the ground; bags of fun, suitable for families, uses a fraction of the staff required for...- Cheese

Do please say more about your thoughts on G'Sengte Sau. It was my favourite ride there by a long way! Interesting to read your thoughts on Karacho. Maybe its launch runs at full power now, but back in 2014 it had been turned down (allegedly to reduce the height restriction) and it practically...- Cheese

Kolmården Wildlife Park - 09/07/16
Wildfire definitely wasn't my sole reason for doing the trip, and "no vibrations" my foot. :) Otherwise a good, accurate summary of the park. Perhaps one day I'll get around to my own trip report, but in the meantime, I felt the biggest issue with the place is that it feels very disjointed at...- Cheese

Robot Wars returns!
Personally I wasn't a fan of starting with four robots per battle in the first rounds. It doesn't really let you get an impression of what a robot is fully capable of. Other than that I thought it was pretty good. It was disappointing that Razer or Behemoth didn't go through, but Carbide seems...- Cheese

2017: New Attractions for Cbeebies Land
If it turned out to be Flying Jumbos then the total hourly capacity of Chessington's rides would be even more miserable (not that it's a throughput monster; far from it, but losing any rides from an already insufficient number cannot possibly be good). Fortunately that kind of ride should be...- Cheese

Liseberg: General Discussion
We were also told that future changes to Lisebergbanan for parts availability and maintenance reasons are also likely to involve the control system. This could actually turn out to be a change for the better. Lisebergbanan's mechanical brakes, while not on the DMP Shockwave 'brick wall' level...- Cheese
