Nintendo Switch 2
I am expecting some form of Mario game before Christmas too, similar to when Odyssey came out for Switch 1.- jon81uk

Chessington World of Adventures Resort
In general I would agree for most roles, but generally once you get to director level I think it is more about negotiation of pay. But yes for most roles it really should be on the advert.- jon81uk

The Public Transport Thread
It already exists, every other Sunday in the summer can get the coach from London, via Milton Keynes and Bedford. £52 for an adult including park admission. https://altontowers.thecoachcompany.co.uk/coachtrip/?page=bookingaquote&trip_type_id=10&trip_cate_id=&trip_group_id=1#ecm-trip-booking-page- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Even if it is a relatively simple trick, if him and his team are the ones who did the work then they should still get the credit for it and if they only gave Thorpe the rights for a period of time then it makes sense. Not much different to if Alton Towers had just renamed it to Charles and the...- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
The park needs dark rides and non-coaster attractions. Nothing but coasters just leads to people feeling ill.- jon81uk

[2026] Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
I think Thomas has some appeal up to 7-8 years old. But also its just the way each land is presented, Thomas is a more well-rounded "kids" area with things for most under 8s. Whereas CBeebies has the CBeebies name on it, showing it is clearly aimed mainly at pre-school age.- jon81uk

[2026] Bluey Coaster in CBeebies Land
Don't forget CBeebies is mainly aimed at under-5s. Alton Towers should be looking at slightly larger rides, but for other areas of the park. As has said before on here, the issue isn't so much the addition of the coaster, its the removal of the simple car ride suitable for all age groups and...- jon81uk

Merlin Entertainments: General Discussion
and I don't think making the full annual pass cheaper would be the answer, but is likely to come. Merlin seem to value quantity of guests over quality of spend. I would think guests spending a higher gate price is better (as Paultons aim for), but Merlin obviously prefer just trying to get...- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
Part of the issue is that Aramark now set the prices and they need to pass whatever share of profits to Merlin as well as making their own. That.s been one of the biggest things driving the higher prices, now two companies are trying to profit on food. The pass is good value to many guests who...- jon81uk

2025: General Discussion
I agree with your broader post. Although the logic of food sales are down so let’s give more people lower priced admission doesn’t quite make sense. If they know secondary spend is proving harder, why offer a deal that entirely depends on secondary send to make significant profits. If people get...- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Minimum wage is £22,222 based on 35 hours a week. Initially felt £27,500 was a low salary for a H&S manager, but its not a manager at all, just someone to gather reports and pass to other people- jon81uk

Merlin Entertainments: General Discussion
Are the parks really that quiet? I thought we had left the dirt cheap season passes back in 2019. I don't get the logic of these, will they really make that much secondary spend on food from those third visits in three months? Or will Thorpe Park just be used as a creche for teenagers again as...- jon81uk

Galactica's Future
I just want the silly plywood removed from the bridge and anything else redundant from the Galactica stuff. Remove projection screens if not projecting onto them etc. Basically restore it closer to Air.- jon81uk

The Public Transport Thread
It helps that Staines station to Thorpe Park is only about 15 minutes drive and Staines station is a fairly short journey from central London. Alton Towers is a longer bus journey and the closest stations aren't as close to places where people are unlikely to own cars. It's a bit chicken and...- jon81uk

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
Rita was not a first-of-type. It was at least the fourth hydraulic launch coaster, with Top Thrill Dragstar being one of the first notable ones https://rcdb.com/r.htm?order=-8&ot=2&el=12166 13 yes had the world-first drop element but the rest of the ride is pretty standard. Oblivion was a...- jon81uk

Weight Loss Jabs
Hopefully it works for you, my husband has lost over 10kg using one of the jabs, but he did have some success with calorie counting but found he got hungry at times, which is where the jab helped. I haven’t had to lose significant weight but helping him calorie count in the past has definitely...- jon81uk

Weight Loss Jabs
I assume you know this won’t do much for weight loss? Need to reduce the calories going in before trying to burn them off. Try something like MyFitnessPal to count the calories going in and try to eat higher protein filling meals.- jon81uk
