Thorpe Park: General Discussion
I am not sure exactly how this works, but would it be cuts to the operating budget? Or budgeting their budget to spread it out better for the upcoming Fright Nights, which no doubt requires a fair bit of some sort of budget to put on in the first place. I am not sure if the operating budget and...- DistortAMG

Alton Towers - Park Audio Volumes
Interesting, so there were more than just the ones in Nemesis Inferno then! I always thought there must be, just could never work out precisely where.- DistortAMG

Skyride General Discussion
When visiting the other week (23rd I believe) the Skyride kept stopping and starting almost constantly. Now I know the ride usually stops and starts to let disabled guests on and off, but this was stopping again and again. A single gondola was not making it through the central station without at...- DistortAMG

The Alton Towers Music, Video and Other Multimedia Thread
Apologies if this has been posted before but it was a good watch which provided a decent look at the park back in 2005. From: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K2YdhjMyoU Narrated by the man who narrates Hex, this video provided a good time capsule look at the park back in 2005. It takes an...- DistortAMG

Alton Towers - Park Audio Volumes
At Alton Towers, no, nothing I am aware of. They may have been used but out of sight to be fair in places such as Hex. Although I *do not think* that was the case. Nemesis Inferno's station had and has them at Thorpe Park, although not used anymore. They were used as part of the rides long gone...- DistortAMG

Alton Towers - Park Audio Volumes
The most heavy bass parts in TCAAM come from the 'demonic spirits' scene of the layout below. The path to FV essentially goes along the bottom of that picture from left to right, so you would more than likely hear the bass from that scene on that path. Oblivion station used Bose 802's and it...- DistortAMG

You know you're tired when...
I put my remote control in the fridge the other day. Then spent the next 45 minutes.......45 MINUITES turning the house upside down looking for it!!!! It was not until I gave up, admitted defeat and went to make a brew that I realised my mistake as I grabbed the milk. I was convinced there...- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
We did not no. I was not too fussed (even though I have not rode it yet) my son was dead against it (he is only 11). He also would not do The Smiler due to him perceiving it as scary due to having 14 inversions. I tried to reason with him that his maths were not mathing after having done...- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
The park were smashing the operations yesterday. Alton Towers is absolutely on the up from my previous visit. They have clearly gone into this weekend, which so far, has been VERY busy, well prepared. Credit where credit is due, seriously! I left yesterday a VERY satisfied paying customer and...- DistortAMG

Alton Towers - Park Audio Volumes
If there is a similar topic, I apologise / please merge. After visiting yesterday, where quite frankly, the park was on top form 100%. I thought a special mention should be given to the park audio and volumes on rides and areas. All areas and queue lines had the volume of the music sounding...- DistortAMG

The Generative AI Thread
I am going to counter this article in the best way I can, with the best intent. The number of elephants in the room in that article could populate a continent. Let’s start with the basics and some huge ironies… To paraphrase, the article quite proudly announces that a billion-dollar AI cannot...- DistortAMG

The Future of Dark Forest
Building a replica chained oak would be a bad idea. We literally have the real chained out a few miles away. Most guests do not see it, granted, but it is there and real. Having a fake chained oak would undermine the legend I think.- DistortAMG

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Not many, but you rarely get independent family parks that have the money to build a huge number of thrill coasters either. I guess there is no right or wrong. Some thrill parks will be more profitable in some locations where as some family parks more so in others.- DistortAMG

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Do they? If that is the case how can thrill parks build large mult imillion pound rollercoasters and still make money? It's a genuine question. A thrill park must make some serious cash, to be able to afford huge investments.- DistortAMG
