Scarefest 2025
It is a pass from me. Although I will visit during that time. Alton Towers is magical in the autumn time. A slight bite to the air as the nights draw in, combined with late-night riding in what is a gorgeous part of the country, make Scarefest/fireworks my favorite time to visit. The parkwide...- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
Very true, but outside of the die-hard enthusiasts, I do not think that most of the general public even care about that, to be honest. A 40-minute queue is a 40-minute queue. They will and do plan their day for the most part based on that time factor. Not based on the fact of if the queue is...- DistortAMG

I never once doubted that. That was nothing to do with the argument that was being made however.- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
But if a queue is advertised as 40 minuites, then it should be around 40 minuites should it not? In that regard, it doesn't matter how many trains are on the ride, if it is a 40 minute queue, it is a 40 minute queue. The queue times are not estimated on the assumption that a ride is running...- DistortAMG

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
The photo shown of Hyperia is from what looks like a handrail on the catwalk. The photo a few posts later, showing coaster track sitting on the ground, also has white catwalks and handrails.... Even if it was from that ride, which it probably isnt. The fact that Hyperias paint and primer has...- DistortAMG

UK Politics General Discussion
Exactly this. People can choose to acknowledge it or not, but the reality is, tensions are quite high in the UK right now over immigration. Mostly a minority with a big voice. People very quickly jump to conclusions based on false information and conjecture. Anything to ease those tensions is a...- DistortAMG

Galactica's Future
Perhaps learn understand what the word "appears" means, maybe you do but your response suggests other wise. Is there any need for the snark though, you seem to do it on here every time anyone dares challenge your opinion. As if you are the all knowing god of control systems. Calm down, take 5...- DistortAMG

I like Gloomy Wood having one ride in it. It helps to sell the illusion of a haunted house in the woods. This would be completely lost if there was another ride, let alone a major one in the same area.- DistortAMG

To be fair, the one photo, the second one, appears to show what looks like a Siemens Simatic control panel of some description, which is very much a PLC.- DistortAMG

2025: General Discussion
The thing is, they can't announce a new headliner if they have nothing in the works. Even that would have limited results because A, it would just be an announcement and B, it would do little to nothing in changing peoples overarching opinions that you mention.- DistortAMG

If it was a hole it wouldn't be a water drain one as it appears to be on the weld? They wouldnt purposely weaken a weld by putting a hole on a weld I wouldnt have thought.- DistortAMG

Six Flags Quiddiya
As it is something you do not support, I assume you do not drive a car, buy fuel, use plastics, detergents like soap or use anything made of synthetic rubber, such as a garden hosepipe then? As they, among many things, directly contribute huge sums of money to these regimes. That argument made...- DistortAMG

Oakwood Discussion
I would have thought so yeah. I think legislation changed after 1999 mandating rides needed to have clean water if guests were getting soaked by it, in order to combat getting sick from waterbourne diseases. Drayton got in there just before with Storm Force 10, thus were and are allowed to...- DistortAMG

Hydro opened at the back end of the water ride craze in the UK. Parks were going after the wettest water ride title, so in that aspect it was not unique in the slightest. We had Storm Force 10 in 1999, Tidal Wave and Valhalla in 2000 and then finally Hydro in 2002. All going after the title of...- DistortAMG

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion
I do not doubt you, but can you point them out, as they are not obvious? It could be the case that by the time the attraction was refurbished, there were only 4 in operation, due to many breaking over the years and never getting repaired. Very plausible given the extreme wetness and dampness in...- DistortAMG
