It comes to something when you need ID to have a ****. But you do not need ID to enter the UK. The country is very broken. Was great seeing Starmer as Trumps petting dog the other day however. You could see the panic on Starmers face.- DistortAMG

But people would be more inclined to pay say a tenner to ride the new attraction if they see it new when walking around the park or outside for that matter. Rather than paying for the whole park entry just to ride that ride. Even more so if they have been to the likes of Sandcastle, which can...- DistortAMG

I am not sure. Maybe a few but not many. Pay one price made it a destination place. Meaning if you are outside the park and close enough to see it, you would be visiting anyway. If it was pay per ride I would have thought it would pick up much more passing trade, but I cannot see people who...- DistortAMG

It very well could be actually, because even though it was in the dark, you could feel yourself going up onto a platform exactly like you do with this top one now. So yes it seems very plausable.- DistortAMG

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion
There was a few fire torches at the start of the ride, the majority of the fire is still in place though. What I never understood though, is the reason that was given for the removal of the reverse turntable was due to it giving 90% of the rides downtime. Ok fair point. But with the money they...- DistortAMG

I think with the refurbishment we got a slightly more cohesive theme throughout, if only slightly. For me, that is a good improvement, even without a trommel. I still think the early 2000's version of the ride with tesla coil and the song of the elders soundtrack was peak Valhalla though.- DistortAMG

2023: The Curse at Alton Manor
It is, but it is clear that one of the main aims of the refurbishment was reliability. So less reliance of physical effects, more reliance on clever lighting and video FX. Something inherently more reliable. Given this refocus and change, I would expect them to be working. It is when the park...- DistortAMG

One of the things I thought was interesting that was said in the video was that they always try to keep the effects working and their aim is to always keep them working. But because there are so many, with so many different conditions that have to be met for them to trigger (specifically the...- DistortAMG

I was watching this earlier. Probably the best vlog I have seen on the behind the scenes tour of Valhalla, especially for geeks. It vlogs the ride in depth and you see it in far more detail in a behind the scenes perspective than many people have ever seen it before. It even goes into more...- DistortAMG

Monorail Refurbishment
It looks very...hospital waiting room. I can smell that picture. They may well do everything in that colour and tone; let's call it "NHS misery." Mmmm, nothing to get you more hyped as you enter Britain's most fantastical Escape. Escape from what? Life itself? I suppose the thing that a...- DistortAMG

Toyland Tours
I seem to recall the attraction seemingly being in an okay state in 2004. Almost everything was working. Just 1 or 2 things that were broken, which I had never seen work. Specifically, one being one of the giant rotating jelly in the finale scene (the one on the left) and the other being the...- DistortAMG

Is that not irrelevant, though? **** value for money is **** value for money, no matter how much you earn. In fact, I would say his comments are more telling of the fact he is still down-to-earth and knows the true value of money. Something that can sometimes and usually be lost by people who...- DistortAMG

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
So it is acceptable for multibillion-pound companies to rip off hardworking, struggling families because of our culture of putting up and shutting up? That does not wash with me. As an extreme example, but exactly the same principle, the society of the USA puts up with and allows guns across...- DistortAMG

Rumored to be Metallica's speaker towers, which were in storage locally due to their current European tour, so they could be used last minute. Although the line and subarrays do not look like Metallica's Meyer sound equipment. In any case, those line arrays must be punching some serious...- DistortAMG

At this point. Alton Towers, more specifically Merlin, YOU DESERVE TO FAIL. Meals like that, for £26, are absolutely shocking, ripping off hard-working families when times are already hard. It is borderline fraudulent and outright disgusting. You do not deserve to be in business with the...- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
Rita was added hastily to bulk up the ride lineup ready for the sale of the park / company. Which was ultimately sold to DIC in 2005. This is why no care was put into it, they wanted something adding and fast.- DistortAMG
