Strange questions that sometimes need answering (or not asking in the first place really).
Although Disneyworld particularly does seem to still have fairly robust communities, I often look at the WDWMagic forums, there is also Disboards (think they are still quite active but I don't visit as much) and The Dibb for UK travellers to WDW. Some of these are more about new attractions and...- jon81uk

Serious questions and musings
You don't have to answer this, but it has sparked my next thought, what is your interest level in relationships, marriage or family life in future? Is it purely that children are weird little things or do you also have little interest in marriage as well? Nothing wrong with it either way...- jon81uk

The post you quoted stated "And these drives for some of the major Northern (including Scottish) urban areas". The discussion was about whether it is viable for Northerners to drive to.- jon81uk

Also I think that TowersTimes started putting more effort into their site and then that split off and became this site as well. So as the ATA team were getting less interested, others were more interested in running sites. Its interesting that Towers Street is the only major forum to remain...- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Disney kept an entire waterpark closed for the last four years, 2025 is the first summer they have had both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open since the pandemic. Universal have two shows SBNO (Sinbad at IoA, Fear Factor at USF) and Poseidon's Fury is SBNO. It is unlikely these will re-open...- jon81uk

Yep I love that I’ve barely used the car in the last few weeks, I am 12 minutes walk to a full size Sainsbury’s, 15 to the doctor and dentist, 15 minutes to our town centre shops and multiple pubs. Don’t like all the new estates without even a corner shop on them.- jon81uk

Busch Gardens Tampa: General Discussion
This is my issue with Busch really, it’s got plenty of coasters and the animals, but not a lot else. They don’t consistently offer shows and there aren’t any dark rides. Bit like Alton Towers in a way that it’s too coaster heavy but at least AT has dark rides.- jon81uk

Scarefest 2025
Your original point was "they’d rather do anything than think about improving the theme parks they already have." Not sure how TripAdvisor is a metric of this? Would probably get much better reviews by cutting the food prices by a third but that doesn't really "improve the park" just lower the...- jon81uk

Although I broadly agree, the wait time will be an issue we still need to have the jobs available for people to take them. If there is an excess of work available that people already holding the right to work aren’t taking up then immigrants are a good option.- jon81uk

⚠️ Forum Announcement – Online Safety Act Changes
My guess is if it externally hosted then it is that site’s problem if it is an issue. TS aren’t then hosting problematic content, just linking to it and the link can easily be removed.- jon81uk

Yes the first one didn't work (it seems Imgur don't like direct linking) which is why I edited and added the Imgur post and the second image hotlink as an example too. Before the forum allowed uploading of images I used to use this a few times.- jon81uk

Use insert image on the tool bar and you can link to images. Imgur doesn't like embed linking to images though, so use this link From: https://imgur.com/RxAmtm3 For sites that will allow hotlinking it works though, such as this image from a BBC News story.- jon81uk

I don't think we are accomodating everyone? Given per head we take the seventeenth largest intake compared to other EU countries. "Compared with other European countries, the UK received the fifth largest number of asylum seekers in 2024 (108,138) and the seventeenth largest intake when...- jon81uk

Pakistan had a war earlier this year which likely is driving people to come here, especially as they probably already have family here who likely settled in the UK 50 years ago. They are generally coming on a visa and then claiming asylum after. But again given the number of migrants that came...- jon81uk

Do you have proof we are giving asylum to those from "safe" countries? On what measure are we a soft touch? Can you provide a comparison with other countries to prove we are softer?- jon81uk
