Nintendo Switch 2
This is why I cannot bring myself to buy one due to the cash in decisions. Along side the fact the TOS make it clear you do not own the software, or the console itself. Well, as many in the industry are saying right now, if we do not own the stuff we are buying, then piracy is not stealing...- DistortAMG

The Smiler - General Discussion
Because the flume had been earmarked for removal for quite a while before it was demolished. Given the close proximity however, there is no reason a ride in the current SW8 site could not be incorporated into Katanga Canyon, with entrances and whatnot on the other side than where they are today.- DistortAMG

Did they once have a ride called air, from maybe 23 or so years ago? I have a feeling that one did it too.- DistortAMG

The Public Transport Thread
I feel the idea or even the notion of building the line as a heritage railway to serve a major theme park is just flawed from the start too. People will take the train for convenience, it wont be convenient if there are multiple connections due to swapping from Network Rail to heratige lines...- DistortAMG

The same argument could be made for places such as New York ir New England. After a while the word new in these names stop meaning literal new and just become part of the name.- DistortAMG

AI Coaster Fun
I might just write a python script that continuelsy asks GPT to draw photos, as fast as possible and leave it running. Do my bit for the environment. I might even get all the generative AI's running.- DistortAMG

Ride Availability/Operations 2022-25
Don't forget the fact that turning the ride on would also electrify the bus bar that provides power to the cars. Anyone in the ride area could be at risk of death by electrocution if they believe the ride to be switched off. I know bus bars are usually partially insulated, but they still provide...- DistortAMG

Galactica's Future
What is your basis for concluding that the ride seems to be really popular with guests? Do you have specific data or information, or is it based on usual rather long queue times. The latter being an important factor because of mentioned technical difficulties meaning the ride is very often on...- DistortAMG

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
You see everyone I knew thought the exact opposite. Maybe it was the age range, as we were young teenagers at the time? In any case, it was a hit for the park in the first seasons as it hugely boosted park attendance. It did exactly what it was designed to do in that respect and bring people to...- DistortAMG

Controversial Alton Towers Opinions
Tell me you never went to Alton Towers in 2002 without telling me...air was a HUGE success. The marketing for the ride was massive too, one of the biggest campaigns, the ride was all over TV, newspapers and even breakfast cereal. For a good time after opening, air always had the biggest queues...- DistortAMG

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
So true, I remember Pirate Adventure at Drayton, the whole thing was pretty much made of OSB chipboard. As soon as you walked off stage so to speak, it was all just bare and unpainted as you would see in on the shelf in B&Q.- DistortAMG

If you like those, davelandweb has some cool photos of POTC from May of 1991. More than what I post below.
