Drayton Manor Park
Incidentally, that was the first ride which I followed the development too. I remember one of the security guards who used to work there around that time, Richard Kingstone, he went on to become the mayor of Tamworth.- DistortAMG

Yeah the animation was dogey, this was a UK budget park, trying to make animatronics in the UK, in the early 2000's. But the set pieces and all that were built really well and to a high standard I thought. I didnt think it fell apart quickly, (most of it is still standing today as an example)...- DistortAMG

It was. Everything you say is also true. But just because the theming was high quality (which it was farmer studuos out did themselves with that), does not mean or equal the ride itself being good. The ride itself was ****, but the theming, especially in it's opening yewr was really good and...- DistortAMG

With all due respect, I don't care if you disagree. It was not my opinion. It is a subjective, provable fact. You can start by counting the bespoke pieces of theming in that queue line, then counting what is in the new areas. You will be surprised if that is your angle. I never said the rides...- DistortAMG

The majority is just painted wood. I am sorry have you actually seen the areas? Rather than blindly defending them. As I have said MANY times previously, there might be a few themed elements, but, they are very sparse and apart. Nothing like the sheer quantity of themeing they used to have on...- DistortAMG

Such as? The country leading themed attractions such as Storm Force 10, Pirate Adventure, Excalibur? They may have fell into dis repair now, but the theming used to be excellent at Drayton Manor. Admittedly, the quality did drop in later years of the Bryans. But when Drayton were in their prime...- DistortAMG

I am well aware of this, the same type of companies who should be and did previously do general theming around the park too. But they didn't, they did it on the cheap, which is why I dont have high hopes for any dark ride, which is going to cost alot.- DistortAMG

Drayton Manor Park
This is the thing with Drayton now, in all of the themed areas they have built under Loopings, there isnt really much "theming", in the traditional sense. A few minor bits and pieces but mostly just painted wood and lots of it. Not like the theming of old which would be lots and lots of custom...- DistortAMG

There is no room for a woodie in that area in the current setup. The area is quite small and blocked in on all sides. Even if they removed the coaster in the area, I doubt that will provide the space due the extremely small and thin footprint it has. There only hope would be going over the lake...- DistortAMG

Interesting thoughts, I have to say I pretty much agree with all of them. While the park has improved on paper, it has fell short in other areas, big time.- DistortAMG

Doing whatever they are doing in house is probably why the castle turrets fell off in the first place.- DistortAMG

It was around 18 months. The majority of that time, as with any dark ride, being filling the building up with all the scenes, scenery and everything Pirates. Creating the building and boat system was relatively short. With any ride of this type, be it Disney or Drayton, the biggest portion of...- DistortAMG

And who argued that? Not me? So I am not sure what point you are trying to make there? For months, the argument has been that there is lots of work going on inside the ride and it is coming back imminently. Even though it has been pretty apparent that nothing major has been happening around...- DistortAMG

It was already put to bed with anyone who could put a small bit of logic, sense and reason above their own personal wants. Not saying it won't happen in the future, but is has been quite apparent for a long time, there is no major construction work, the type that would be needed to bring a...- DistortAMG

With that logic, you could say you dont go to a themepark to hear music / audio. You can do that at home too. I understand what you are saying, but apart from a few very specific examples, the problem you list, doesnt exist....yet. It is encouraging to hear her say what she says however.- DistortAMG

It would make no sense to do that. Because all the scenes and scenery were built around and specifically for a boat ride. If you built a new ride you would have to build the new ride to that route which makes no sense. It is all completely rotten anyway, we had a look a few years ago. Plus...- DistortAMG
