2025: General Discussion
The edges of some planters and retaining wall are small rocks, so this could be what they are jet washing.- jon81uk

Universal Orlando (Studios/IOA) : General Discussion
Someone else followed up that the address details are confusing and it’s more likely for the Rip Ride Rocket coaster replacement than Lost Continent. Given Fast & Furious Drift in Universal Hollywood is Intamin then it makes sense that this coaster is likely to be as well.- jon81uk

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion
I think this is the most likely direction. Remove the “world of David Walliams” branding but keep the Gangsta Granny ride, then start planning 2027/28.- jon81uk

There will be very little officially released on it, Universal work very differently to Disney and don't normally announce much or even provide concept art until very close to opening. The official confirmations for attractions at Epic came out in January to August 2024 (they revealed one land...- jon81uk

Strange questions that sometimes need answering (or not asking in the first place really).
Strange thought - does anyone else find the BBC News theme comforting? I actually find it a nice way to meditate for 90 seconds or so.- jon81uk

Yes in a similar way to if a cult encourages people to take their own life, should cult-like conspiracy influencers be held more accountable for deaths as herd immunity drops?- jon81uk

I would assume no, as none of Universals other parks have anything similar. In fact I think the only parks across Universal & Disney that has optional transport to other parts of the park is the castle parks with the train and Epcot with a boat. The Universal parks are generally smaller...- jon81uk

It won’t open with enough for a two day visit. Also it’s fairly centrally located so most people will just come for the day and then travel home. I don’t see it being any more of a two day park than any of the Merlin parks, ie on a very busy day the length of the queue stops you doing...- jon81uk

I have added better context to my previous point, but I did not ask the question "why the existing S106 contributions from the housing developers weren't covering the cost of the Universal spec station." I asked why they weren't paying for the "station", so I've added the context to make it...- jon81uk

I never suggested the housing developers should pay for the upgrade and I don't think anyone else has either? Not sure why you are mentioning that. I think the government should be further investing in the railways and it shouldn't solely be solely up to developers either, it looks like from...- jon81uk

There was new roundabouts at Denstone, it converted two of the junctions towards Alton to roundabouts. Yes Alton village itself is still a bottleneck, but I think there was at least some benefit to driving to AT. I don't disagree completely, I think probably some infrastructure costs...- jon81uk

You could of course look at it as a £190m subsidy for JCB then.... I know realistically the road improvements didn't just benefit JCB or Alton Towers or the new housing, its a mixture of everything. Although there has in the past been road infrastructure improvements that have directly or indirectly helped Alton Towers and other parks. £190million was spent on roundabouts and new roads near Uttoxeter that significantly benefitted JCB and Alton Towers...- jon81uk

Thats a different way of bunging them some cash. The production companies get a tax break for production in the UK. There is a pause for thought, all drugs are properly tested and checked by qualified people. They do peer-reviewed studies on them. It isn't just mixed up and injected into people, the scientists developing them carry out clinical trials and then pause for thought while their peers check it.- jon81uk

Realistically it won't have the same draw as Disneyland Paris. The Universal IPs aren't as big as Disney ones. It also won't have the same base of international transport and hotel availability. I think it will be popular, but 6-8million to start with feels more realistic.- jon81uk
