Merlin Entertainments: General Discussion
I suppose they have owned Merlin for twenty years and successfully merged them with the Tussauds Group with good initial results from that merger. its more recently its been a problem- jon81uk

Ride/Park Accidents
Unfortuantly I doubt the front line ride staff have had training on "what to do if someone returns dead on the coaster" so their response is likely to wait for medical and first responders to arrive. They may well be shocked and no idea what the best course of action is.- jon81uk

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
They didn’t change the California ToT to Gaurdians because Twilight Zone is old, they didn’t change it because they wanted synergy with the current movie and this was easier/cheaper than building a whole new attraction. You say it’s being repainted to the OLD colours, so they are actually...- jon81uk

You could remove the IP and just have a Haunted Hotel and the Florida one would still be a great ride.- jon81uk

Is Alton Towers too cheap?
I would say this is because the hotels at AT are still a little too expensive. Although due to the inflation rising faster than their prices its not as bad as it was a few years ago. But in general I think the AT hotels have always been a little overpriced and definitely expensive. But the day...- jon81uk

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
Although all that is really stating is they built it for testing, not why Imagineering have made a custom designed flume ride that needs testing. Given lots of manufactuers have standard flumes and Disney already have flume rides in multiple parks, there has to be a unique element to this one...- jon81uk

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
Maybe there is some design so it can run better in low water levels, enabling the ride to operate without a major splashdown in the Winter?- jon81uk

Is Alton Towers too cheap?
Yes I think they are too cheap, as you say entry prices haven’t risen significantly in quite a long time but the costs in energy and staff to the park are going to be a lot higher than ten years ago. Considering Paultons charge £45 all year, that seems a fair price.- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
We just did KFC and it was predictably fine, but the kebabs did appeal, although might seem pricey if you don't have an AP. As Thorpe has KFC and Burger King they can't just offer the burgers and chicken that Alton and Chessington do, so they have kept up the focus on interesting options like...- jon81uk

[🌎 Universal GB] General Discussion
Currently there is Forbidden Journey which is a Kuka arm and Monsters Unchained at Epic uses the same (or very similar) system, Gringotts which is a coaster with a motion base, Hagrids motorcycle is a coaster with launches and trick track sections. Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
I went to Thorpe Park for the first time since before the pandemic (I only went while it was Derren Brown Ghost Train once that's how infrequent my visits are) yet still noticed the cobwebs and lack of general cleaning and painting at Thorpe. Although yes I do agree it does mean you notice the...- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Had a fun day at Thorpe today, first time since before the pandemic. Hyperia was a lot of fun, loved the airtime but it is a little short despite being Thorpe’s longest coaster and the splashdown brakes hit hard. All the best parts of Saw are still before the lift hill, that is a bit rough...- jon81uk

Strange questions that sometimes need answering (or not asking in the first place really).
Although Disneyworld particularly does seem to still have fairly robust communities, I often look at the WDWMagic forums, there is also Disboards (think they are still quite active but I don't visit as much) and The Dibb for UK travellers to WDW. Some of these are more about new attractions and...- jon81uk

Serious questions and musings
You don't have to answer this, but it has sparked my next thought, what is your interest level in relationships, marriage or family life in future? Is it purely that children are weird little things or do you also have little interest in marriage as well? Nothing wrong with it either way...- jon81uk

Also I think that TowersTimes started putting more effort into their site and then that split off and became this site as well. So as the ATA team were getting less interested, others were more interested in running sites. Its interesting that Towers Street is the only major forum to remain...- jon81uk
