    Chessington World of Adventures Resort

I still don't see significant January opening. I think the autumn opening will expand and Christmas will keep getting bigger. Then close down after the kids go back to school and re-open for half-term at the end of Feb.

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

From the TowersStreet History section https://towersstreet.com/construction/x-sector/#portdiscovery X Sector was firmly decided on early 1997 so would have been set in stone as a concept late 1996. Additionally the train design would have gone to B&M. Sorry I don't see that the Thorpe Park...

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

Oblivion opened March 1998, Tussauds bought Thorpe Park in 1998. The X Sector theme was set in stone long before the Thorpe Park purchase. I don't think that Tussauds acquiring Thorpe had any reflection on the X Sector theming for Oblivion and the surrounding area.

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

Yep and I think the leadership likely realise that planning permission to build a building in that area is still a good thing, as you are unlikely to get anything without a building in that area, even if you then change plans on what to do with the building it makes sense to keep the planning...

The station of Black Hole kept the Jules Verne style for its entire lifespan.

Asda, Argos & Sainsbury's all have large warehouses nearby so its understandable they would be concerned about traffic.

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

No it is just a conincidence. There is no reasonable chance that surveys and other planning processes were accelerated in the last few days.

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved

I very much doubt that. There was general rumours sure but very much doubt AT knew more than his publisher who took the action this week that sparked the news and discussion

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

I still think realistically Gangsta Granny will open for 2026, just removing the "World of David Walliams" branding. The book/story itself isn't particularly controversial and you can still go into bookshops and buy it. Its just right now HarperCollins won't publish any of his future works due...

The edges of some planters and retaining wall are small rocks, so this could be what they are jet washing.

Very very unlikely as there is no need to.

Why replace the driving school at all? Especially with something for a lower age range.

Universal Orlando (Studios/IOA) : General Discussion

Someone else followed up that the address details are confusing and it’s more likely for the Rip Ride Rocket coaster replacement than Lost Continent. Given Fast & Furious Drift in Universal Hollywood is Intamin then it makes sense that this coaster is likely to be as well.

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

I think this is the most likely direction. Remove the “world of David Walliams” branding but keep the Gangsta Granny ride, then start planning 2027/28.

    [🌎 Universal GB] General Discussion

There will be very little officially released on it, Universal work very differently to Disney and don't normally announce much or even provide concept art until very close to opening. The official confirmations for attractions at Epic came out in January to August 2024 (they revealed one land...

Hopefully it wasn't a wild goose chase trying to track them down before you couldn't find them ;-)

Strange questions that sometimes need answering (or not asking in the first place really).

Strange thought - does anyone else find the BBC News theme comforting? I actually find it a nice way to meditate for 90 seconds or so.

    UK Politics General Discussion

Yes in a similar way to if a cult encourages people to take their own life, should cult-like conspiracy influencers be held more accountable for deaths as herd immunity drops?

    [🌎 Universal GB] General Discussion

I would assume no, as none of Universals other parks have anything similar. In fact I think the only parks across Universal & Disney that has optional transport to other parts of the park is the castle parks with the train and Epcot with a boat. The Universal parks are generally smaller...

    [🌎 Universal GB] General Discussion

It won’t open with enough for a two day visit. Also it’s fairly centrally located so most people will just come for the day and then travel home. I don’t see it being any more of a two day park than any of the Merlin parks, ie on a very busy day the length of the queue stops you doing...
