Thorpe Park: General Discussion
But it’s not the theme parks fault that some people in a group stayed in the cabins? The other option is that the whole group stays in the cabins.- jon81uk

Thorpe Park: General Discussion
Its the groups choice to split up. The group can all stay together in the main queue if only some have Fasttrack. No one is forcing those who stayed in the hotel to use the fast track, they have the choice to stay with their group if they prefer.- jon81uk

2026: General Discussion
At least the TV advert probably isn't specific to Easter, many people would be booking for the summer. Whereas the Instagram/Facebook advert specifically infers that you can make memories on those attractions at Easter.- jon81uk

Disneyland Paris: General Discussion
I still don't see it working due to the language issues. You'd have to have separate boats for English narration and French narration but then you'd still end up with Spanish, Italian or German speakers where the jokes don't work so well. I've had some boats in Florida where there hasn't been so...- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
This is part of the issue though, it is OK value with 20% off. Effectively its not an annual pass discount any more, its a tax on those without one.- jon81uk

Futuroscope General Discussion
I went on a school trip around thirty years ago, it was cool back then but mainly just different combinations of IMAX type screens and 3D glasses, plus a few weird outdoor "rides" like water tricycles. Does seem like the park has changed significantly since to get closer to a traditional theme...- jon81uk

2026: General Discussion
As has been said many times, it was a very wet winter, it’s highly likely some things could not have been done during the winter weather. Also issues with the lift hill chain may not have been found until part way through closed season and then there is the wait for the new parts.- jon81uk

Wicker Man - General Discussion
Originally when Oblivion opened there was a deditcated bridge to the front set of airgates and a seperate one to the back set of airgates. Later on when Fast Track was added they dedicated the back bridge to Fast Track, this means at times they make people from the main queue move from the front...- jon81uk

Monorail Refurbishment
If they are working on the train it is moved inside the trainshed. The storage yard is usually only for storage of trains. Same as most other railways, they have indoor spaces for maintaining the fleet and outdoor spaces for storing them.- jon81uk

Food & Beverage: The Aramark Era begins
The are the operator of the park though, from the guests perspective the issue has nothing to do with who the data controller is, its a simple "Alton Towers installed touch-screen order kiosks and now I can't easily get my annual pass discount". Looking purely at guest experience it is Alton...- jon81uk

and none of this should be the guests problem. Alton Towers should have worked this out with Aramark prior to allowing them to install the self-service kiosks. If we didn't have Aramark then complaint is still the same, AT should have solved the AP discount before going ahead.- jon81uk

You can post images relevant to the discussion but have to host them elsewhere and link to them. Would be really have ridden Battle Galleons in March? I’d expect it to re-open as the weather improves.- jon81uk

I'm sure this has happened every March for the last few years, they remove a few rides from the app that are unable to open for the buyout days. Someone posts that those rides are never to open again. They reappear on the app and open as normal.- jon81uk

The Swarm: Brave it Backwards
Jumanji Mandril mayhem is a boomerang coaster, if you go forwards to start with, you come back backwards. So you are either front row outwards and then going backwards on the return or front row for the return but backwards going out the station.- jon81uk

Eurovision 2026
I've listened to Denmark's entry and its pretty good, a nice balance of soaring balled to slightly more electronic background. Also of course we now have our entry, Eins Zwei Drei. Its good fun, maybe a little too repetitive, could have done with more of the beats in the foreground and a bit...- jon81uk
