2026: General Discussion
No, full sugar fizzy drinks have been banned in unlimited refills, but they could and probably should be allowing unlimited diet or zero fizzy drinks. It would likely end up costing them less as they fill you up, The fruit juice they are now serving will likely not have this effect, and also...- JAperson

Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2026 Discussion
Vekoma tilt over the water ? Being serious they should just build a super marketable tilt coaster with a shortish layout spend a fortune on marketing and the jobs done.- JAperson

Matt N’s Midlands Meander 23rd/24th April 2026 (Fantasy Island/Alton Towers)
I'm glad you enjoyed your day Matt, Lincolnshire and that railway between Nottingham and Skegness is just pure infastructure all round. As for Fantasy Island it certainly is a weird two halves park, although I'd be tempted to say it's three sides, as you've got the Pyramid, the outdoor rides and...- JAperson

I wasn't intending to bring another installement of JA moans about the job hunt into this threat but.....why do recruiters think its okay to email you at stupid oclock at night to tell you that you haven't got a job? There's a schedule send button if you want to work late at night for this...- JAperson

Fantasy Island - is there anything I need to know in 2026?
Also double post, sorry. It's one of the few places that's still cheap, Skegness and Ingomels is one of those few tourist destinations where you can get good value food, even inside Fantasy Island itself the prices aren't bad. Although If I were you I would go to a chip shop or something just...- JAperson

PortAventura: General Discussion
I suspect the issues will be resolved, now they can see the full impact. B&M always have seen as an incredibly proud organisation, and I do think they will attempt to fix this.- JAperson

Fantasy Island - is there anything I need to know in 2026?
As a proper Midlander, with mates in the area, this is indeed an ongoing discussion, I just think nobody wants to claim Lincs 😂 . It's quite different to a lot of the country, very right leaning and conservative, quite rural and older than average. Skegness and Ingolmels also feel distinctive to...- JAperson

Lightwater Valley
I agree that an Ultimate 2.0 is unlikely any time soon and would be a bad decision at present. If they get down the line, with a good supporting line up and they want to relaunch a new ultimate, using similar land, sure, but it would need to have it's own new marketing element too. A decent...- JAperson

2026: General Discussion
Also its simplicity, people know that 1.4m is the standard, and once you hit that you can go on all the 'big rides', it makes life easier for the staff, easier for the guest (as they don't have to double check to find out Oblivion is actually 135cm instead of 140cm to ride). To frame it, when I...- JAperson

I suspect they had planned to take out significantly more debt in the future too, with their planned caravan park in Scotland that has now been refused permission (although they seem to be determined to continue fighting it)- JAperson

Skegness is fine, its cheap, somewhat odd, but its cheerful enough. You'll be fine, it's not more unsafe than most places in the UK. As you've done Blackpool by yourself you will be completely fine.- JAperson

Don't go in expecting a theme park, its a huge market with some rides, its very tacky, but in a weirdly charming British way.- JAperson

Southport Pleasureland
Wallis certianly seems to have the passion, but he clearly has struggled with the cash to actually carry out what he wants to do. And as a typical showman he hypes his plans up a lot, and while there is nothing wrong with that in principle he does need to be careful not to overhype people for...- JAperson
