Is Alton Towers too cheap?
I do think the costing at Alton Towers makes little sense, the car park charge is too expensive, especially considering you can't get there any other way, but it seems they've increased this instead of increasing gate price. I'd rather the left parking where it is (or actually reduced it), and...- JAperson

[202X] Project Horizon (SW9?): Planning Approved
I find it so funny everybody keeps trying to tell you about accounting @Jb85 , I'm half thinking you should put it in your signature haha. Going back to this, I believe when Tussauds bought the park they were very open that they wanted to develop the site significantly and I think they made it...- JAperson

Isn't it probably like most things, that instead of either cutting costs all together and not investing or investing loads you instead cut costs as much as possible where this can make sense. But invest in less risky things that are highly likely to bring in a return. My guess is that there...- JAperson

You just carry some form of ID. Most of the world, including most democratic countries have ID cards without a problem. If it makes society more efficient I think it's a good thing. It's hardly like the Gov doesn't have all this info anyway, I mean how would HMRC even work without having...- JAperson

Age verificatiors. There should be a single Gov age verificators linked to your ID. I've just had to fight with discord to try get it to approve me being over 18, it still won't let me. I've now submitted a manual request, with no stated timeframe of how long it will take. Also these automated...- JAperson

The I Feel Happy Topic!
I'm the same, why I have no massive expenses I can risk taking a temporary or lower paid job with the hope of gaining more experiences. I've had 5 interviews now, although one of the roles I really didn't want once I'd been in there a few minutes, so I don't really count that as one I was...- JAperson

The I Feel Happy Topic!
Yeah it's hard, I know I'm doing something right as I'm getting at least some interviews (I'd say I get maybe 1 interview for every 20 jobs I apply for or so, but it varies). I actually think a temporary post is a good thing for your first job because it allows you to get some experience and see...- JAperson

Will they probably just close them individually now? I'd suspect they just haven't formulated a plan to do it yet.- JAperson

Lowe was too extreme for reform, so I'd take little note of what he says. Although will give him one thing over Farage he does seem to actually engage with his constituency and care about it. About the only good thing about him being anywhere near parliament. In other news that I'm sure both...- JAperson

Serious questions and musings
I have a really good friend who often doesn't respond to me for long periods so I know it's hard. They don't even do it on purpose, they just forget to respond and there is still chance of this being what has happened here. Honestly I'd just leave it for a bit and then maybe drop them a message...- JAperson

Trump will change his mind next time he talking to Putin, then he'll change it back when it talks to his best European mates (even though most his euro friends don;t actually like him, some are good at pretending IE Starmer).- JAperson

The reason nothing gets built in this country is because everyone is out for there own indiviual interests at every turn. Is it a bit worrying for the residents? Sure, a bit. Is it sad that this road won't exist soon? Yeah of course. But in the grand scheme of things it really isn't that big of...- JAperson

They wouldn't leave as the idea of a wealth tax would be that its such a small amount extra. They'd kick off about it but very few would actually leave. Also Nick Ferrari is a raging tory so I don't think he's a reliable independent source. However historically wealth taxes haven't really...- JAperson

No they don't. Lego parks as a whole are very successful, but these parks are incredibly expensive to design, build and get open. Therefore the new parks that are yet to pay off there considerable debt are a drain on resources and debt financing. Once they have created enough revenue to pay off...- JAperson

Well yes, people think if they go into the next tax bracket by just a little bit they'll actually earn less, and if you try and tell them otherwise they insist they are right. When in real world terms this is incredibly unlikely (it may even be completely impossible, but I'm factoring NI here).- JAperson

Yes sorry I did, no idea how I confused that in my head apologies! Legoland produce a lot of revenue for Merlin, and my hope is that the Shanghai park, and others will eventually stop being a drain on financial resources and instead actually add to the business (which I think its likely with at...- JAperson

UK Politics General Discussion
I keep seeing this sentiment, and although I do get the feeling behind the reasoning it doesn't make any actual sense. The top 1% hold far more than 28.2% of UK wealth. There's so many different variations but most have it at least 35-40%. So if the top earners are to pay there fair share, they...- JAperson
