Isn't that a lot more to do with Dragons' capacity being absolutely huge?- Alexsutton

Figment were on site again today, one side of the station was being used to work on one of the trains and towards the end of the day they brought that one into use and used the back row to test the VR (not on guests, that I saw).- Alexsutton

Would there be any point to having the Vive and tracking it with the external sensors? The whole point of the system is that the position of the rider is determined by the system on board the ride, which matches up to the video and then the headset only needs to deal with the angle your head is...- Alexsutton

Disneyland LA Tickets
A second vote for Attraction Tickets Direct, having the physical tickets in advance makes it much easier, they're usually reasonably priced as well. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk- Alexsutton

Towers Loving Care
I do however quite like the mental image of BBC news presented with an ungodly amount of moving lights.- Alexsutton

Towers Loving Care
I don't work in lighting, but I do work in TV and where I work we are pushing more and more towards LED lighting. Things seem to be moving pretty quickly, the lamps we've got at the moment look a lot better than the cutting edge stuff from only two or three years ago, but equally I've seen from...- Alexsutton

Do any of the other rides at Towers have any kind of permanent lighting for night-time openings like this, other than safety/floodlights?- Alexsutton

The Smiler Incident - What Happened
Does anyone know if the operator is allowed to leave the booth whilst the ride is in operation/guests on board? If it was me in the position of the op, especially now that this accident has happened, it wouldn't matter how many people reported to me that the track was clear, if the system was...- Alexsutton

Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015
Stalls are impossible to completely prevent unless your vehicles have the ability to drive themselves along the track. Something could get gummed up in the wheels and stop the ride (Mumbo Jumbo at Flamingoland stopped when a plastic poncho did just that), something could go mechanically wrong...- Alexsutton

2016: Air - Re-theme to VR Coaster - Galactica
I always thought that Blade and Ripsaw were supposed to be excavation equipment used in the digging which ended up unearthing the Nemesis creature.- Alexsutton

Yup. When I was there they had someone guarding the back entrance so you couldn't even go and see the penguins without having to queue up for an eternity, sit through that 'attraction' and then go through that way. Such a waste of a decent ride system.- Alexsutton

2016: Air - Re-theme to VR Coaster - Galactica
A half-hearted space retheme looks all too likely at the moment. Space references on the marketing material, colour scheme fits in with that, seems an appropriate theme for a green-screen photo point.- Alexsutton

Incident on The Smiler 02/06/2015
You can never completely remove the risk of any roller coaster stalling. There was an incident a few years ago at Flamingo Land where a plastic poncho blew onto the track of Mumbo Jumbo and it got gummed up in the wheels and stopped the car. They've clearly looked at each factor in the incident...- Alexsutton

Nemesis Sub-Terra: "Ongoing Maintenance"
One of the biggest problems, in my opinion, that they'll struggle to get over is the way the ride was marketed. Pushing something as super-terrifying worked great in the short term, it drew in the crowds. But now the marketing has died off, word of mouth has spread about what the ride is really...- Alexsutton

It's a Dutch coaster enthusiast website from the looks of it, not a newspaper. I'm sure enthusiasts from around the world are still paying attention to this story, it's one of the highest profile incidents that has happened in a while.- Alexsutton

I'd have thought they'd restore the signage before the ride itself opens, so I'd have thought that will be a better warning that the ride is likely to reopen soon.- Alexsutton

All of that relies on the contacts never failing. If it fails, then you're back to the same situation where there is a vehicle on the track the computer doesn't know about.- Alexsutton

But that still relies on the input of the user. That could well be exactly what happened but because of the error of the person inputting the data, the system could still think that all was correct.- Alexsutton
