2018: Wicker Man - Pre-Opening Discussion
I feel a non-press jargon more serious safety release should be addressed in the coming weeks to ease those who think wood and fire are a no-go. Yes, people are more forgetful nowadays, but surely there must be synthetic wood in some part or something to rationally explain how it is safe to the...- Stelios

Quick Questions
How large are "large lockers", compared to the small ones. Anyone got any measurements?- Stelios

2016: The Smiler Reopening
No, only because I don't plan to go back to the Towers this year if the park is in such a recovery period as much as I'd like to support it. Probably will in a few years when the crash memories fade out of the general public's minds.- Stelios

What are you listening to?
Lovely Rita by The Beatles just came up as an earworm for me so I gave it a listen and imagined the Alton Towers connotations that come with it. I bet that was never on at Thunder Rock Rally, Rita's pretty rough so not exactly "lovely" though. Anyone else got any songs they love with...- Stelios

TST fantasy football league 2015/2016
Since Nolan left WHU on 27th September, felt I had to sacrifice some points to at least scuffer some back. In comes Ozil breaking the Alton Wanderers way and two free transfers leave Sturridge out (3 more injuries remaining this season probably) in for Vardy (why not don't have Leicester player...- Stelios

2017: CBeebies Land Hotel
Enough to recover at least visitor numbers though maybe not the money lost of Merlin as a whole I'd say. It'd take another year almost to build probably anyway in terms of a close season.- Stelios

2017: CBeebies Land Hotel
Its been approved, but in The Towers current state I'd be hesitant certainly on getting straight to it, how long can you have Planning for until you have to get it re-approved? Or does it vary on a case by case basis?- Stelios

Major Ride Closures 2016
I think its more of a case of Spinball being mentioned in the LTDP to be removed within the next 10 (now 4 or 5 years) due to a potential theme in Adventure Land being the really only non-themed area left its just Sonic whacked onto the end of Cbeebies Land. And thus because of that we're...- Stelios

Major Ride Closures 2016
I'd be fine with that point if Spinball was removed to allow the space for a potential Cbeebies Land expansion, but I feel it will just shut I'm afraid. The Vintage Cars were also 10 years old when there were relocated to that area from modern day X-Sector though - though it also had a year of...- Stelios

Major Ride Closures 2016
Its freaky how Blackpool itself as in the area has been trying to rejuvenate for years to get more punters it but this really could just be down to the reduced amount of Towers guests instead flocking to there. I certainly fancy a visit next year for the first time since 2012, more rides and...- Stelios

Major Ride Closures 2016
Is there a source to us knowing the IP expires in March? Or is that just assumed as the season starts in March? Because Charlie actually opened in April, and surely the license could also begin from when the deal was struck in 2015 so are we really sure of its expiry, for all we know it could've...- Stelios

Major Ride Closures 2016
Driving School is the one that puzzles me. Forgive me if I'm wrong but does it simply have to go now that the Peagot 207 (dated car) brand has expired and Merlin are using that as an excuse/contract clause to cut it? Or did it expire time ago? I can't see the two weird ones Hex and Driving...- Stelios

Major Ride Closures 2016
Sad thing is, with 190 job losses I'd assume management teams are fewer too with less people taking on more department tasks, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was a first job for a new manager or was done by an old manager who is probably now fired. Gutted.- Stelios

Midweek Theme Park Closures
It only seems logical to follow their Southern siblings, are LEGOLAND doing the same? If so, I'd probably dock one of the overall least profitable weekdays - or heck I'd rather have more in favour of closing more rides, but I guess 7 days of secondary spend with less rides over 2-5 days of less...- Stelios
