That station is huge compared to the rest of the ride. Interesting as have never seen it from this angle before.

And re 'Be Chosen' clearly you are on to something there - fits in nicely. Also a good marketing tag line

After looking at the 'random' symbols from the SW8 site and the new signage around the construction site today, I've pulled together a rough guide to the alphabet we've gotten so far. We can be fairly certain now that the symbols on the site say 'Be Chosen' and 'Chosen'.

Could 'chosen' be the name of the ride?

And can we put to rest the idea that this is going to be themed around a 70s cult horror movie? I'm not saying that there won't be some kind of wicker man/cult imagery in the final ride, but there really is no basis to keep speculating that this will be themed to an IP that Merlin wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

What I meant by Wicker Man was that the ride will have that sort of theme/tone to it. I know Merlin like their IP's, but very few people have heard of the Wicker Man (I certainly hadn't prior to SW8), so Merlin would be quite stupid to use the IP as the theme.
 
This reminds me of the "alien language" featured in Futurama. Initially it was a straight swap from English letters to the alien symbols. Until they realised that fans had spent far too much time trying to decode it. After that, they just made up random gibberish.
 
I just had another thought about SW8. I was browsing RCDB when I noticed that a guy called Jeff Pike has designed the majority of GCI's modern coasters (he designed Wodan, for example). Do you guys think that he has any involvement with the layout of SW8, especially as John Wardley is now retired?
 
Looking at the recent updates from the construction site in particular the themeing pictures, their seams be what looks like 2 horns poking out of the covering. What if the themeing piece is or inspired by a Baphomet. It would certainly go with the satanic cult inspired symbols that have appeared in marketing over the past couple of days.

Alton Towers have just posted a new video hinting at more things SW8.

Could the "Be Chosen at Scarefest" line be pointing towards being picked to be one of the first to ride it?

 
Hmmm, lots of cringe but also very interesting. Worth watching for a second time to pick up on all of the weird changes that take place throughout the video (clock starts off digital, ends analogue, mug changes from china to wood, the screen showing something in the weird alphabet).

Also the video is clearly trying to teach us the full alphabet of this runic language, I'm sure someone out there will work it out sooner rather than later!

P.S. Am I the only one who does not have a clue who Elliot Crawford is?

"Entrance" on the Air picture discretely changes to the weird symbols at one point.

Before she walks past the books and drops them there are digitally added letters which disappear once shes passed them.

Looks like an anagram to me.
 
Looks like a target market 10+ based on the style of the video and the age of the people in the Video.
Interesting continual use of the word experience instead of Rollercoaster in the advertising.
