Can I just ask why there is so much discussion of a world first when it has never been claimed that this will be a world first ride?
They are just advertising it as 'world class' which surely means we are just going to see a standard wooden coaster?
Reminds me of during the Smiler construction when there was talk of facial recognition etc. over closed season!

I was going to say I bet there's been a miscommunication between departments and that's why they've ended up saying 'world's first'. Whoever made it probably hasn't been paying attention to the park and thought "Oh they'll probably throw an awful excuse for a world's first in anyway like usual"

I'm going to say the 'worlds first' element will be the trains, and it relates to the double headed nature of the theming element. As far as I know, a woodie has never had forward and rear facing trains, i.e. the front half of the train faces forward, the back half faces backwards (correct me if I'm wrong). That way, riders get to see each face of the structure.

With that AT could promote it as the worlds first forwards and backwards wooden coaster. Fits with the theme, would be unique, would give two very different experiences.

Nobody in their right mind would find riding a GCI backwards enjoyable. They're usually too wild - although in this case the layout does look tame enough for it to be technically feasible.

Very original reasoning and pretty sound. That's more likely than anything I came up with.

To take this to the next level and I think this incredibly unlikely I wonder if the car could turn around inside the theming structure.

I'll test it backwards too. See you on the back row ihaveasperger's.

I'm not convinced, but this is one of the more reasonable theories posted in here over the past week or so. If there's anything to theorise at all, that is.

While I'm still expecting a deluge of first-rate PR nonsense come Monday, I must admit I've warmed (or indeed, burned) to the marketing hype. Given that the park were convinced they couldn't find a relevant way to market a wooden coaster for years, framing it as an escape from modern technology, and the associated anxieties which dominate the news cycle, is a pretty unique angle.

Is it me or does anyone else find it strange how Merlin create themes on serious issues, Like with The Smiler and how society is depressing or Fracking with DBGT.

And now we have the the problems with the overuse of technology and social media.

It's almost as if Merlin are making their rides self-aware! :p

I've already Mentioned this further up in the forum. I have a feeling that the world first element is the trains. The trains in the image I've shown you look very different
 
I am really not sure on a worlds first element, The AT/Welcoming websites now refer to a world class experience much like on the origial posters
