By way of comparison, let's look at White Lightning (Fun Spot) on its initial few tests. Same length as Wicker Man, same manufacturer, same family market.
Other than the fact that White Lightning is faster at the end than Wicker Man, I wouldn't actually say that the two look overly different when cresting hills and going through higher points in their layouts. I'm still optimistic for this and I'm not judging before I ride!
I guess it's a subjective matter depending on your definition of slow, but I didn't think that the speed of Wicker Man through the tall helix and the speed of White Lightning over its tallest hill looked overly different myself. The first time the track passes through the Wicker Man structure it looks like it's nearly about to stall - and that's literally still the first half of the ride immediately following the first "drop" and hill!
I agree @AstroDan! I'm sure the ride will be a bit faster when actually operating! The video was taken from some considerable height.
The perspective to actually gauge how fast it's going makes it impossible to do so.
The non-banked corner aside, the speed looks fine for an early test. It also seems to practically stop at the top of the lift hill, which will not be standard.
"Please remember it's testing and was much quicker yesterday, so they will be using different wheels".
So they're saying that the ride used slower wheels when that video was filmed? That's relieving for those who think it looks slow!Attraction Images said this:

Yeah, because in wet weather the combination of lubrication oil and rain water reduces friction. It is common for the wheel compounds on GCI to change depending on weather and conditions.

So this is why Wikipedia says that Megafobia is normally a 48mph ride, but runs at 55mph in the rain! Thanks @skyscraper!Yeah, because in wet weather the combination of lubrication oil and rain water reduces friction.
