Someone asked on Facebook about what rides are available for next weekend,

Hi Luka, we anticipate a full ride line up as per our website. However, we cannot confirm if Wicker Man will be apart of it at the moment.

Wicker Man will be open for the corporate buyout days in the coming weeks prior to the park's official opening. This will not be confirmed prior, however.

Amazing news! This was the only reason I bought a ticket (being a passholder, they can't be used next weekend) in the hope I'd get a soft opening. Can't wait :)

What are corporate buy out days generally like? I can't imagine them being mad busy either.

I've never done it before mate, my girlfriend works for the NHS - we had a letter through saying we could buy tickets, with her being a BlueLight card holder, so I jumped at it. I'll be sure to let you all know the day goes :)

My wife is a nurse. I wasn't aware she's classed as corporate.

It's corporate buy out in that the park is hired by a corporate entity (Blue Light Card Ltd) and they sell tickets to their members who are employed by the emergency services.

Makes sense but as we've got passes this year for the actual season unless it was dirt cheap to attend on this day then I don't think we'd bother. Chances are WM won't be running either you'd think even if it's ready.

If it's ready to run, which it is, then it will. Gives the staff a perfect opportunity to get into the swing of operations before the first few weeks of opening, which is typically a relative madness. And of course, a pleasant surprise for those on park. Nothing is guaranteed, mind.

Have they ever had a soft opening on a SW on one of these days before? The logic of getting staff ready using these days makes perfect sense, I just thought they'd want the 17th (if that's to be the day) to be a bit special.

With the way everyone is with vlogging, social media and youtube these days, I think there could be a lot of spoilers online before the 17th if its open. That's why i reckon it won't be but I could be wrong.

No - they haven't.

This is largely because most of the SWs previously were massively delayed and had no cushion for a soft open.

Not to my knowledge, but then, the situation has never been right, and the corporate buyout market wasn't such a big thing some years ago. But the major difference is, pigs have indeed flown, and Alton have seemingly finished this project well ahead of time. Vlogging and such does result in spoilers, but it's also of enormous value to the park these days, so ultimately, there's no point in keeping things under wraps.

Just messaged the wife to get a card. Out of interest how much are they charging for entrance?

I believe tickets were £18 each, she needs to apply online, they'll then post her card out - only took a couple of days to arrive I think. Let me know how you get on man :)

Saturday is sold out but Sunday is still available. £18 each and car parking fees are waved too. Bonus. :)

Now that's sorted, let's get bak to Wicker Man again! Feel free to use the PM feature if any more details regarding the upcoming services days are required.

:)
