How busy are we expecting opening day of the season to be in comparison to other years when new rides have opened?

Usually, new SW opening days are busier than other (non SW) opening days, but still not that busy really. Remember: On SW years, the park opens 1 week early - and this year is no exception!

Marketing really doesn't kick in until around opening week, and most people delay visits till Easter or later.

However, it can feel busier, because there are more people (geeks) around at park opening, and the new ride will get longer waits - with lots of people around it taking photos, having a look etc.

I remember turning up on Th13teen’s second day and the ride having no queue at all. I though the queue boards were faulty, or it had broken down.

The cappacity was insane back then. Efficient staff, no fastpass to slow things down and a push to beat the previous days record. I remember riding 7 times in a row. Never been able to do that since :(

Well it’ll be a desperate sprint down to the new ride on opening day then so I can enjoy the rest of the day in every other area of the park in an attempt to avoid the crowds

I might just not bother with Wicker Man first thing to get one step ahead of everyone else. Enjor your queuing, I'll ride at ride close.
I don’t blame you in fairness, you’re smarter than me that’s for sure!

I’m very excited to be in a crowd full of excited enthusiasts I must say. It’ll be nice to be surrounded by people who share the same nerdy passion as me, even if some of them hate everything about the ride.

It was the queue for The Smiler that closed early at 4pm; otherwise the staff would have been there all night.
