I am hoping to see the works next weekend if my shoulder is healed enought for coaster riding

'Ground-Breaking' Like you know.. No 'ground' on the coaster cart as it is floorless... I'm also thinking it might have something to do with the coaster carts simply because the whole site is able to be seen and therefore surprises are hard to keep under wraps. A coaster cart can be hidden till the near end

I like the idea of a floorless woodie with a launch and great theming etc.

I saw the lift hill structure for the first time today. The photos online do not give you any sense how tall this structure is from the base to the top, it looks very high and I've been told there is another couple of meters to go on top still. What looks like a silly rollercoaster in the original plans is now really looking stunning as it starts to take shape, now you can even clearly make out the three track sections that pass though the gigantic wicker-man sculpture, sure looks like you will be ducking your heads as you pass through it

Agree with Royjess 100%. We've all put a negativity on this coaster, mainly due to its size and family appearance (though I would say it is family thrill). We are never going to get a woody on the scale of Wildfire at AT with the planning restrictions. The height change from the top to the bottom is far greater than I expected. In addition some of the excavations have considerable depth and I think that like Nemesis the proximity to the walls of the pit or pits could give a massively enhanced sensation of speed.

I think this could be lot of fun, and the more I see, the more I think AT may exceed our expectations this time around, and pull something pretty fun and thrilling out if the bag.

Its hard to get a scale of the site from the pics, when i saw the plans, i thought, small site, but its massive when you get there, it must be 4+ or more times larger than the smiler site.

The station looks big when you are there.

Presumably just a GCI construction thing, given they're based in Pennsylvania.

It's nice to see the Union flag being flown on a new coaster! lately a lot of companies have adopted this tradition (although on steel coasters it normally represents the last track piece going into place). It's something I'd like to see us do more. A new coaster is something to celebrate!

None of the flags are permanent, they are a tradition when GCI top out a coaster. They will put up the flags of all countries involved. So always a USA star spangled banner for them, then the country of the ride (union flag in this case) and in Europe a German company help to build GCI's coasters. I would imagine the flags will fly for a few weeks or till the coaster opens!

I know there's a significant height difference between the land at the top of the site and the bottom, and we all know height isn't everything, buuuuuut ... I've see kiddy coasters taller than that!

ha ha.. you mean like 13?
The maximum level difference is greater than on White Lightning, so this could be a fast ground hugging machine. But its also a similar elevation difference to Invadr, which is anything but fast, so this ride still could go one of two ways. The angle on the overbanking sections under the themeing element as the ride comes out of its helix's looks promising though as the maximum angle will be much greater at the apex of the bend. Good to see this flying up though!
