[2024] Thorpe Park: Hyperia - Mack Hypercoaster

If I'm not mistaken club 236 winners will be riding on opening day just before anyone else?
My plan is to get to get the opening date booked off work as soon as it's announced stay the night before get to thorpe very very early and try my absolute best to get on the first public train.

Some winners will be on the first train but others will be among the first 50 people in the queue line (they will enter the queue before it opens to the public), so you'll have to time it well to be on the first true public train.

I'm surprised you didn't win again Skyscraper! 😂

Are there any plans for a mini-meet for the opening?

I'll hopefully be there on opening day but the level of effort is truly beyond me.

I'll show up, grab a couple of over priced beers and brave the likely 3 hour queue.

Considering the general cost of a pint of Camden Town anything, especially in the South East, the one thing I've never thought overpriced at Thorpe was the beer.

They were definitely having issues with the supports today, they kept trying to put one up, in the end they had to remove a load to then add the really complicated one.

In other news, which I’m sure we probably already knew, but it has been confirmed tonight that IMAscore are producing the soundtrack for the ride, and the clip from the promo video is part of the soundtrack.

What is going on with the colour scheme of this thing? It really is all over the place - especially obvious on that new support structure.
has it been confirmed that they aren’t going to spray gradients on it and fade it when it’s in situ?

If so, it would have been better all white I think.

The clip from the promo sounded quite good, so I believe that this soundtrack should be decent, although we only heard a snippet in that promo so we can't tell how the entire soundtrack will sound.
I like almost all of IMAscore's work, so hopefully this soundtrack will be just as good as the others.

I'm hoping they'll give Hyperia better speakers than what they've installed around the rest of the park. Standing near the speakers around Inferno's queue is painful. A good soundtrack would be wasted if played through the same crap speakers.

A bit like @djtruefitt said yesterday, we managed to somehow watch the rollercoaster get an extremely complicated support be installed but in order for them to do that they had to take down some other ones.

They've also run pipes for cables for sensors etc for the brake run

You can now see the new structure peeking through the tree line, it won't be long till it fully breaches the tree line.

Looking into the park from the bridge not much has changed.

I was at Towers on the day Wicker Man opened to the public (unintentional). Park was dead and everything was walk on, so we'd done everything and decided to wait around the Welcom-inn with a pint when it started testing.

Big mistake! Got 15 mins in to the queue and needed to leave for a wee.

It’s something I always do if the queue is horrendous, it makes an hour plus queue a million times more bearable if you’ve got a beer, if it’s going to be over an hour I’ve been known to grab 2 or 3 to last the length of the queue!

1 beer = 15 minutes, an hour queue needs minimum 4 pints.
