[2025] Project Ocean: New Forbidden Valley Flat Ride

What is up with Alton Towers. Like yeah they adding a hopefully well themed flat ride but on the other hand they removing a perfectly working flat ride.
It proves that flats help the parks as the amount of downtime all the SW coasters have had this season there isn’t much else to do.

What flat ride is being removed?

I thought the Blade thing was debunked as being "satire" about Kingda Ka.

I haven't heard of any solid source of the Blade being removed from the park and it'd be natural to presume it's something that's been said in response to Kingda Ka.

Theme Park Guide have reported on this on the last day of fireworks however there doesn't appear to be anything in detail about what their source is.

It could easily have been a staff member saying this as a wind up inspired by Kingda Ka, there could be truth to this or a new pirate ship is being installed in it's place. Isn't the Blade like Triggers Broom at Alton Towers?

It'd be best to wait until we see something more solid either a park announcement, something happening on the park's website or the ride getting dismantled with photos.

It dose seem very strange to me, even for a serious problem compared to getting a new ride it would probably be much cheaper to fix it, and recently they have replaced the supports (although the swing arms connecting to the ship look as though they could do with a bit of work)

Preempting those using Mr Sanbrooke as a source. As neither Theme Park Guide, nor the Theme Park Worldwide channel, have divulged their sources there's no way to know if there's any truth to this.

They could share the same source, they could have different sources, or Sanbrooke could be using Theme Park Guide as his source and reporting on that.

This level of confusion often happens when vloggers try to be breaking news journalists.

Seeing TPW's post and video - the post said
"Could the end be in sight for the oldest operating ride at Alton Towers?" as a question and the video didn't go into detail other than along the lines of "if our sources are correct, Blade will be getting removed in the winter".

He did say it isn't confirmed and from what he said, he's doesn't seem confident Blade is closing.

He said at the end after the last Blade ride something along the lines of that he'll wait and see what happens in the winter.

I don't think that's a sign of Blade getting removed - it's speculation until we see something firmer. 🤔

TPWW have been wrong before, he normally isn’t but he has been on more than one occasion.

Nature of the beast when you are dealing with unofficial sources in confidence.

It could be as simple as a joke to as complex as it may be something being considered but they then change their mind.

They didn’t dig further down to accommodate Blade did they? I have very vague memories of seeing Thunderlooper, but it never appeared to be as below ground as the Blade is. But then again, there was a lot less foliage back then.

For reference here’s a Birds Eye view. Nemesis is obviously to the left, and then you have The Beast down by where Galactica now is. The Thunderlooper pit just doesn’t seem as deep as it now is.

Think that picture is deceiving if you look at the steps going out of the pit. Thunder Looper and Blade share the same operators cabin, the thunderlooper was raised out of the pit a bit as well435983138_1152882322395782_6054766748568385591_n.jpg

I always found it funny how they tried painting the top half of the loop and hill white to blend in with the sky but it didn't help...come to think of, the exact same idea has been used for Hyperia now I think about it.

Did people at the time notice the dramatic increase in quality from the funfair rides to Nemesis?

I was there the other day, the lift structure is now done and the scafolding arround it has gone, the unload stairs appear to be in and there is a portable lift thing on the structure by the load stairs.
The ride mounting points also appear to be inplace.
New post from towers times seems to show these features, and to me some new metalic frame, could this be for where the platform lowers during a ride cycle? it seems too large to me, I wonder if they'll add water:

I am not sure about the rasing platform, why would that section lower just so you can hit the concret wall that looks to be at the same height (I am guessing if a lower floor exists, it would be more central) and the exit stairs look to be too far over to be able to serve this floor.
We probably won't know what this looks like as it isn't shown in the last planning permission, and looks like an extension with it extending past the lift and exit stairs:

Are you ready to run through the tunnel... oh wait that's not the marketing :)

Some of the early runners say the tunnel feels like running through the iconic Air tunnel
