[2025] Project Ocean: New Forbidden Valley Flat Ride

Have they started with some sort of design work on the concrete (white marks along the bottom which look like the beginnings of hazard stripes)?

It looks like they may have also painted the sides with a grey weathered look, the concrete on top looks a lot fresher.

It looks like they are painting directly onto the concrete, you would have thought they’d have learnt their lesson from this given how awful The Smiler looks but I will reserve judgement…

I'm not expecting fountains, spectators will not want to get splashed when just walking past. I assume the additional metal sections either side are just fall protection.

Same, given the previous issue I just don’t see it happening.

Smoke, maybe fire or fountains that don’t wet the gondola. Assume that’s what the metal container at the front is for.

I’m surprised the entire things not covered being honest

I don't know why but I didn't expect the ride to be positioned sideways, instead of forward facing like ripsaw was - missed this detail in the planning documents!

The sideways position works better for the double-sided gondola, because one side would always be facing the trees otherwise.

To be fair they could have just ordered a standard one and slapped it where Ripsaw was originally and saved a load in construction and material costs
Huss don't push the Classic model much anymore, plus the suspended model is an upgrade on it. Lots of people are still moaning about it "being Ripsaw" and how it's boring, so another Classic model would have been even less well received. Much like Nemesis' theme, they've had to make it fairly different to the original in order to be able to market it and get a return on investment.

Huss don’t push much publicly in all honesty, I mean their website still lists Rameses in the Classic Top Spin section 😂. I get the feeling they’ll build whatever parks want them to build. They’re a strange company to say the least, always have been!

But it’s a far improved restraint system on the suspended models compared to the classic. The reduced faff in comparison to the original model’s double restraint system (and blimey it was a faff!) likely played more of a part in going for the suspended model over the classic.

I've always thought of the new design as being much more of a faff than the original - mainly in how long it takes the ride to park at the end of a cycle and also in the relatively slow movement of the floor. On top of that they'll presumably now have to actually check each restraint rather than just look at a line of LEDs.

If the new ride isn't set up to have 38 people counted into a holding area before the end of the previous cycle then I expect the throughput to be significantly less than Ripsaw's was.

I guess the market they sell their products in isn’t really something that needs a flashy social or web presence is it
