Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

I've seen a YouTube video today stating a rumour that S&S are in talks to continue re-tracking The Big One at some point?

Might as well mention the Vekoma on site chat too. Assumedly the Grand Prix replacement is a Vekoma family coaster for 2026. Kalypso model perhaps like Dino Dash at Emerald Park? I could see Mandy re-using a Grand Prix / Racing theme too tbh.

Given the challenges of the site I’d anticipate a custom model for the Grand Prix site. Family and Wallace and Gromit themed would be sensible, especially given that VMF is now the most watched animated movie broadcast on UK television

There’s an opportunity for an interesting layout if the station is situated on the overpass. A nice drop off there with a lift hill at the end would be nice option and offer a reasonably unique experience.

Has anyone seen if anything has happened with river caves? Didn't see anything happening in 2024 after first weekend

Will they bring back paid entry?
It was offered in a single email promotion late last year...
If they do, will they give my good lady wife a free entry pass to cover her covid cancelled one?
Will they bring back single ride tickets if paid entry does return?
Will mandy get a new big red coat?

So many questions, but who bloody cares.
Whose round is it?

Probably sold out by now, but BPB are doing general park behind the scenes tours again, 10th and 14th March (10-12 and 1-3). Managed to book a slot on the Friday, £35 per person.

From the e-mail this morning:

Pleasure Beach like you've never seen it before: A behind the scenes tour of our iconic park.

Ever wondered what goes on behind the rides, shows and events here at Pleasure Beach Resort? Step out of the queue line and into our back of house, where you’ll see Pleasure Beach like never before.
In small groups, you’ll have an exclusive opportunity to visit some of our departments like wardrobe, look underneath rides, view the park from areas inaccessible to guests, and travel through secret tunnels.
You’ll hear from the people that make it happen, learn about our history and also grab a bite to eat and drink along with a certificate at the end – all included in your ticket.

Has anyone had issues trying to register their pass this year. Everytime I upload a photo and press the button to continue to just has the spinning wheel and nothing happens.

I had that, but did eventually get in. It then presents a list of 7 dates you can book during the February opening, and if you don't book one, it doesn't seem to actually register the season pass.

Surely this problem could have been foreseen

Same last year (and probably always has been). Photo uploaded and stored, but you can't complete and confirm personal details till you pick a date. Only then your pass is registered. Caused some nice confusion last year in the booking office when I turned up without prebooking, but had upload a photo and my pass didn't work. All sort by checking my details on the nice lady's screen.

Who is going to pay to see bits of rotting wood, rusted steel, falling apart anamatronics and bits of plaster cracking everywhere. I've already seen Mandy for free!! 😂 😂

(NOTE; This is a joke, an oft-used setup by Jack Dee!! It isn't a personal attack on Mandy in any form; merely a reference she has been at BPB since Tutankhamun discovered the River Caves in 1330BC. Damn, done it again 😁 !)

I haven’t been to Blackpool in 6 years, and I’ve been thinking that this year might be a nice time to return.

Out of curiosity; if travelling from further away, do some of the more regular visitors think I’d be better off coming on one of the Twilight Thrills days with longer opening hours (9pm, I believe?) or a quieter midweek day?

My last visit to Blackpool was on a Late Night Riding day in 2019, and while the park was busy, I do remember it being a great day, with some great night rides!

If it’s at all relevant, I would be taking the train, and the earliest I could really arrive in Blackpool North station would be around 11:15am if travelling up on the day. If I went to Twilight Thrills, I would likely stay the night after the park day and travel back down on the Sunday, whereas I might stay the night before and travel back down after the park day if I went midweek.

For a long-distance infrequent visitor, do the Blackpool regulars tend to think that Twilight Thrills or a quieter midweek day would be a better choice?

As someone who did BPB last year as a long distance infrequent visitor, I've had a fantastic time visiting off peak in May. There were barely any queues on the park. The biggest queue was the Big One.

I did a travel day, two days at Pleasure Beach and then a travel day to go back home.

In my opinion as a southerner who's nearest is Thorpe Park, I wouldn't advise doing travel and the park on the same day personally as the journey to Blackpool is about 4 hours for me (coming from Berkshire) by train. I think it'll be similar coming from another part of the South like the South West.

If you're looking to do the Twilight Thrills, I'd advise doing the Friday as travel, do the whole day in the park on the Saturday and if you're looking to travel back on the Sunday, using that day for travel.

As a regular, old git, frequent flying happy clapper, I would say weekday every time!
But I really hate queueing.
The place really struggles these days with slow queues and speedypass on busy days.
And late nights would mean stopping over, or crashing under the south pier with a four pack of Special Brew until the first morning train, or is that just me?
You could do it as a day tip on a weekday probably.
Just.
May, early June, or mid September.
And be careful, the donkeys have Fridays off...and it is often very quiet on a Friday on the Beach.
