Cascade Falls (Orochi Teaser)

Some of you may remember this park starting out then dying (quickly) on TT. Well, I've recently recovered the file and have been beavering away.

The idea is that the park is currently in the 2005 season, and todays update is just going to be preview / teaser shots of different parts of the park. Thus far I have been jumping round adding bits and bobs around the park, so let me know which parts I should finish off and I'll make updates focusing on completed areas.

Onto the preview pictures!

New for 2005 , Full Throttle, a Maurer Sohne prototype launch coaster.

Still going strong, the 1982 addition , The Screw.

FLIPSIDE opened in 1998, replacing the scrambler ride.

Banshee was added for 1992, as part of a new themed area "Wicked Woods"

Opened in 1985, Pirates Peril is the third retheme of this classic ride.

Updates may be infrequent ( apologies ) but if there is interest in the park I will keep it going.

Infrequent is not a problem.

Love the name, Cascade has such a nice ring to it.

The prototype Maurer Sohne (certainly nothing to do with me ) launch coaster looks very interesting. As does Banshee.

I look forward to seeing more.

Nice! I'm really digging your terraforming and pathwork and that (B&M?) red and white coaster looks great fun!

My only advice so far would be to use some custom covers for the flume as I think it'd look more effective.

Keep it up though, can't wait to see more! ;D

Looking good so far. I like the support work on the MS launch coaster. It clearly says "this ride is NOT a B&M, despite the track!"

Wicked Woods is the themed area that opened in 1992, and has remained untouched since. Its only rides are Banshee and The Haunted House, although it is rumored that the Haunted House may undergo a refurbishment in the future.

In this overview you can see the layout of Banshee and the Haunted House and its cut and cover show building.

Approaching the area through the woods, you can see Banshee overhead. There is also a snacks stall that serves the pathway and Banshee's queue area.

Banshee had a Flashpass queue added in 2003, with the machines located opposite the ride exit.

Payphones are also available in the corner of the plaza.

The plaza has a central planter, with a huge oak providing shade, adding to the spooky atmosphere.

The facade of The Haunted House is very imposing, but only 20% of the size of the show building. The queue is also partially indoors, continuing through the halls of the house before reaching the batch point.

Banshee's queue is simply themed, with the ride being the main focus over the queue area.

The Lakeside is home to some of the original attractions , as well as some newer ones. This area has kept a relaxed atmosphere (bar up-selling - but more on that later).

We'll continue from where we left off, going through the woods that separate Wicked Woods from the rest of the park.

On the left, FLIPSIDE is as thrilling as ever.

Tussaud's upselling of the new for 2003 FlashPass has destroyed some of the original charm of The Screw, but the ride is as thrilling as when it opened in 1982.

Cascade Flyers is another classic attraction, opened in 1983.

Heading past the toilet building, you can see the new for 1994 ride in the distance.

Wallace and Gromit took up residence in the 1994 season, and the ride was almost gutted in 2003, until the new feature films were announced and the dark ride was saved.

The factory facade is the biggest facade on park, strecthing the entire length of the show building.

The queue line features interactive displays of some of Wallace's inventions, and the interior queue features screens playing shorts specially created by Aardman for the attraction.

The raised queue area gives fantastic views over the lake (excuse the unfinished shot, I felt like I should show the parks namesake waterfalls in a screenshot)

Being one of the most popular kids rides, Fun-O-Matic had an internal extension added to allow for a FlashPass queue at the exit area.

The final attraction in the Lakeside area is another original, the 1979 vintage cars. Nothing fancy, but an old favourite of staff and guests alike.

Out of character today, on the park timeline, an invert was added for 1998. I've been struggling for a layout, however I DO like the location on the hillside and the lift-hill placement, apart from that any suggestions for layout/themes etc?

(chances are this attraction/ area wont be covered in its completeness until I finish the kids area -working around the park anticlockwise , this is where I should be next)

And on a side note, by any chance id Banshee based on Vampire...

Maybe ... In all honesty this is my take on what parks could be like if Merlin/Tussauds were to stop resting on their laurels and install consistent themed attractions in a natural setting without ruining the area (in this case protecting the lake and falls)

Today, we'll be hopping aboard the 1980 chairlift attraction, giving some nice views of the park.

There are two stations, this one is at the bottom of the entrance street.

The other is behind the Wallace and Gromit ride, in Kiddie Corner. The ride is useless as transport, but gives great views of the north side of the park...

My favourite view from Sky Flyer though is definitely of the park's answer to Alton Towers' Nemesis, opened in 1997 (before the Tussauds buyout). Orochi is to this day the biggest inverter in Europe, with a huge 8 inversions (twice as many as Nemesis!)

Nice inverter! It's got an epic opening. Curious to see the rest of the layout, it looks considerably improved from the plan you posted above.

I thought it might be nice to show the original plans of the Orochi ride area before the full update next time, showing the full layout!

Lift -> twisting drop -> giant cobra -> overbanked curve (up) - > Immelman -> zeroG -> batwing -> cliff dive -> giant loop -> tunnel -> helix -> corkscrew -> brakes

Continuing our tour of the park, this is Kids Corner (& Carnival Street), the last area we will visit before facing Orochi.

Making this area home are Music Express ( 2002 Vekoma RollerSkater) , Sky Flyer, Frog Hopper, Dodgems, Carousel, and some midway entertainments. The area is

sadly low on the list of prioritys, and likely will not see changes until at least 2009.

The general area is a mish mash between generic, modern, and in 1996 a minor refurb created "Carnival Street".

Frog Hopper is pretty standard (and broken as usual...)

Music Express is pretty exciting, and on a quiet day its not uncommon for a second lap, accompanied by "choo choo, oh yeahhh!" - it all adds to the guest

experience, and a nice touch in what is still a family park.

Orochi is waiting...

Orochi and Orient Valley are taking longer than I anticipated, so here are some WIP shots, (some of them are very unfinished). Hopefully these will give you a taste of the area until I get logisitics all sorted out (working paths, retail areas, possibly a new flat)

Area "map" - in progress, Orochi is not fully supported as yet...

Dragon Tower. Originally wasn't going to be enclosed, but I wanted to disquise the blue drop zone logo, hence the cover.

Orochi dominates the area.

I tried to make a queue line that interacted with the terrain and Orochi itself.
