I have sunk a fair few hours into it 
Not got any of the expansions (unlike Cities In Motion & 2). Check out the Steam Workshop for some great creations.
There are some great additions available via mods and assets (both steam workshop), but watch out as they tend to cause issues when the game updates and the mods haven't yet.

Cities in Motion 2 I have, and have a lot of the expansions for that
I have a few of the mods, the reddit list of mods was very useful for that!
