Europa Park wins Golden Ticket award (again!)

Once again Europa Park has won the "Best Amusement Park Worldwide" in the 2015 golden ticket awards.

The awards are voted by a top-class specialist jury made up of numerous experts in the international amusement park industry.

The Golden Ticket Awards are ran by the American trade journal Amusement Today. Europa-Park had already received this accolade in 2014.

Michael Mack, was presented with the coveted prize. The awards ceremony took place on the 11th and 12th of September in New York.

Michael Mack made the following comment: "This year, Europa-Park celebrates its 40th birthday and we could not have hoped for a better recognition of our good work from the trade than the vote of a worldwide jury of experts. This incredible honour represents recognition of our work: we will continue to give our all every day to keep inspiring our visitors with quality and attention to detail, time and time again".

It's not the first award Europa Park has won this year. The Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus (German Tourism Board, DZT) has also named Europa-Park as the most popular visitor attraction in Germany. On TripAdvisor, Europa-Park received the award for Europe’s favourite theme park in the Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Quite an achievement to beat Cedar Point for a second year in a row. Would be quite something if they could scope the hat-trick next year when the awards are hosted at CP.

Bump!
Quite an achievement to beat Cedar Point for a second year in a row. Would be quite something if they could scope the hat-trick next year when the awards are hosted at CP.

Well they did, Europa-Park has been voted the best park for the third year running which is fantastic!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers both feature in the top 10 parks worldwide, ermmmm, okay then. The top ten rollercoasters do not feature a single inversion with Nemesis coming in at 11 being the highest rated coaster with inversions. Well done to Paultons Park though for being voted the fifth best childrens park!

The awards are seriously flawed but the best park award is very distinguished. Clearly the people who run the awards (Amusement Today) are not best pleased at EP continually beating Cedar Point to the awards so have created some "publisher's pick" awards and they gave best park to Cedar Point.

Perhaps Alton Towers was up there as industry bods around the world wanted to support the park after the incident in 2015?

Obviously, given the dire state of affairs with regards to the ride removals/closures, and general lack of anything going on at ATR this year, it's pretty dodgy ground if you ask me - but anyway...

I wondered that but anyone who works for a park or manufacturer is not eligible to vote in the awards. It obviously still has a good reputation amoungst enthusiasts and I assume the number of UK voters has increased in the last couple of years (it was in the top 10 last year also but not once previously). Knoebels came second in 2011, that says a lot about the awards too.
